Can i ask what you think of marie laveau’s house of voodoo? When i first heard about it, i assumed it was a museum that also sold tshirts and stuff, but i was checking out their website and found that they also sell “voodoo dolls”, gris gris, and things called “spirit offering bags” (one made specifically for papa legba) which, from what i’ve heard, is a big no-no esp since voodoo is a closed practice. Is it bad for them to sell these things (since they’re such a well known... 1/2

..location, frequented by ignorant tourists) or is it entirely on the consumer to be responsible/discriminatory when purchasing anything magic related? (I’m not even sure if the stuff they sell is “genuine” in anyway, and double unsure if it being genuine would make it more or less problematic). Btw i love your blog! A person in a religion has the right to sell their products. You as the consumer are not apart of the relgion or become apart of the relfion once you use the products. So anyone in Vodun or Voodoo can sell their products. There is nothing wrong with selling them. That is like saying is it right for Tarot readers to charge for their services (and trust me there is a whole debate about this).

Now we can have a small conversation on white people in louisiana selling products from Vodun, but outside of that it is fine. How else are those outside of the practice supposed to help and support?

20. Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)?

Rae loves to sing. She has a very, sweet, very warm and relatively high voice. She’d be a soprano, but bordering mezzo-soprano. She loves swing and pop-songs, old ones, that are sweet and melodic.

Milton, surprisingly, does sing, as well. He’s a tenor, and got a classical musical education, so his pitch is always flawless, but the music lacks warmth and heart (surprise). His preference are renaissance and baroque lute songs. Don’t tell anyone, but he wouldn’t be skilled enough to sing actual arias with coloraturas. He’s too much of a perfectionist to sing these. But he doesn’t think that’s a flaw, since his main instruments are the piano and violin, anyway. Duh.

Lennart can sing, too. He’s a tenor bordering baritone, but he mostly sings lullabies for his kids or rock/pop songs that are stuck in his head. He’s not an avid singer, but he sings pretty well. He is in full control of his voice, and is said to have a silver tongue. It comes with his job. He does hold a lot of speeches and press conferences for Devon, and controls the propaganda. He has a clear voice, a warm voice, is well-articulated and smooth. It’s a voice you instantly love, that is neither unnerving nor brash or overpowering. He’s a born speaker, with a voluminous voice that can carry a message.

God, there are so many headcanons I have about my babies. Talea sings old German lullabies to the adopted girl (originally Rae’s baby but adopted by Talea’s boss, Devon’s arch enemy) and her voice is sad and low and never loud and she’s got a heavy German accent.

Sasha sings, sometimes, but he’s not great at it, at all. He’d be a tenor, and when he sings, the stammering that comes with his insecurity and awkwardness, disappears entirely. He did try to survive as a street musician before he became a whore. He was too bad at it, though <.< His preferred songs are 90s Grunge or 70s Glam Rock, and pretty much everything else. He’s versatile when it comes to music. He loves weird stuff.

Jacob, well, we know that Jacob hates it, but he can actually sing very well. He just never does it. He’s got a smoky, warm, velvety and low baritone.

Fun fact about Devon: although he is so skinny and small and tiny... his voice is very, very deep. It’s what people confuses at first XD He hums a lot to himself, but it’s mostly tune-less, so that doesn’t qualify. Most of the time, he’s entirely not aware of this habit.

Is there any way to set pen pressure to darken color instead of thickening the line? So you press harder to shade something black and lighter to make it grey?
