There was nothing else in those eyes that she remembered but the color, nothing she could see in the man before her that she could recognize, but she still tried, breaking her own heart again and again each time her eyes met with the sight of a stranger instead of a spark from the kid she used to laugh with.

His ticks were still there though, every expression he pulled lacked any joy, but even through the cold indifference and rejection he expressed so easily towards them, there was a sad sort of relief in realizing that she was still able to read his mannerisms perfecly."
