"Alastor touches others so getting mad at Vox touching him makes him a hypocrite" is bonkers. It's like "you like to swim so I just suddenly push you into a swimming pool and if you complain you're a hypocrite".
Never mind that the people Alastor touches are either 1) someone he’s purposefully trying to annoy (Husk, Vaggie and Lucifer) or 2) someone who welcomes his touch (Charlie, Niffty, Mimzy). Alastor knows he’s being a dick when he touches someone who didn’t care for it and these are people he has an antagonistic relationship with. The people he touches who he's on friendly terms with, on the other hand, welcome it.
This is where the people who have no idea what media analysis even means wonder “so what?” and the one with a master’s degree in this shit says that context fucking matters.
Vox says he considered Alastor and him friends. After the flashback bar scene, I doubt there’s been many chances for Vox to glom onto Alastor’s shoulders, meaning that, when Alastor is saying: “You’re always doing that and I hate it!” it’s in reference to before their falling out, their friendship. Meaning, Vox was doing that shit to his friend and crush.
Vox couldn’t be arsed to respect his admitted friend’s boundaries, a friend he was trying to ingratiate himself to and who he’s known for years so he should be aware of his boundaries.
People trying to victim blame Alastor for Vox’s lack of respect for his personal boundaries really looked at an orange and called it an apple to suit their narrative.
And that’s why I block anyone calling Alastor a hypocrite instantly. I’m allergic to willfully obtuse.
"Alastor being aroace isn't fair because people who are just ace deserve representation too!"
... can you even name three aroace characters that weren't just confirmed through word of god after the fact and also isn't just an incredibly popular headcanon? like off the top of your head can you even name three?
Like I can name three because I've hyperfixated on every single aro/ace/aroace character that has ever been made. but can you name three? can you name more than three?
the truth of the matter is that most aro/ace characters in media are not both because being both isn't considered relatable or interesting.
all this to say i hope alastor realizes he's aroace in the show and i hope when he does it's the best day of his afterlife.
Now I know for sure that Alastor is aroace because only an aroace person everyone inexplicably wants to fuck would have all of their interactions micro analyzed by random people on the internet to prove that you secretly actually do have the feelings™ for their favorite white boy
"look at alastor in the promo card omg the closet is glass-"
about alastor and vox's falling out flashback... you know alastor is also queer, correct? Cos the way some of y'all talk about that scene you'd think he wasn't.
sometimes you gotta ask yourself "would they be saying any of this if Alastor was allo?" and if the answer is no then the killing starts.
Things alastor is:
Asexual
Aromantic (shut up, i didn't ask)
a guy with no access to google and has no idea what that means
Things Alastor is not:
straight
allo
Vox's falling in love with a straight man crush canon event
secretly in love with [insert character here]
in denial about being in love with [insert character here]
over acting because he doesn't want to admit that he's in love with [insert character here]
insecure about secretly being in love with [insert character here]
kissing a hundred boys in bars and shooting another shot to try and stop the feeling
