considering she was perhaps the most... palatable member of her band, it made sense that hazel was the one who’d been forced into a PR relationship. that all being said, she couldn’t say that she was pleased about it. “do you not think it’s like... really embarrassing that someone’s job is literally just to follow us around to maybe get a picture of the two of us?” it was her way of trying to be nice; starting a conversation and not ignoring them completely. “i’m not even sure why anyone would care about... this,” she mused, gesturing between them.

“you know, you could at least try and look like you’re not being subjected to torture whenever we spend time together.” picking at the chip in her nail polish, hazel glanced up for the briefest of moments to shoot them with a look. she really wasn’t quite as good at playing it cool as they seemed to be; perhaps that’s because her ‘dislike’ for them was all feigned. “like, really. am i that bad?”

fresh out of a dip in the pool, hazel stretches her limbs and turns her gaze towards her companion. a smile forms on her lips when she catches their eye. “see something that you like?”

“it’s hard to say something when it might not work out the way you want, isn’t it?” hazel shrugs, gaze dipping so that she wouldn’t have to look at him. “‘cause then i’m the one that has ruined a perfectly good friendship, right?” she couldn’t help but feel as though she’d done that anyway.

hazel hadn’t stopped in well over a year. after the success of her band it had been visiting different city after different city, never with a chance to stop off home. now was finally her time though and after a quick visit to see her family she knew exactly where she was headed  — the same address she’d sent postcard after postcard to on all of her travels. a pleased smile that was reserved for only few people immediately formed on her features at the sight of them, “hey stranger. long time no see, huh?”

after snagging herself a ‘hottie’ post-show molly had laid claim to their room for the evening. hazel got it. mostly. it was rare for them to actually have a room for the night since they spent most evenings in a van heading from venue to venue, but she didn’t have to like it. hence why she was sat in the bar of the hotel nursing a jack and coke, trying not to take a snooze on the counter top. she glanced over the other occupants of the bar and turned towards the friendliest looking face. “question. you think if i try and book a room here after midnight, they’ll only charge me half price since i only really technically need it for half of a day?”
