These Brown-Butter Hazelnut Doughnuts are a delightful twist on traditional doughnuts. The browned butter and ground hazelnuts add a rich, nutty flavor that pairs perfectly with the sweetness of powdered sugar. They're perfect for breakfast or a tasty snack!
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/3 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup hazelnuts, finely ground. 1 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, browned and cooled. 1/4 cup whole milk. 1 large egg. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Oil for frying. Powdered sugar for dusting.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, ground hazelnuts, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix browned butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms. Be careful not to overmix. Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 350F 175C. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the doughnuts with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar while still warm. Serve and enjoy!
