Hello!!! Wonderful art! Been wanting to ask: ow do you acheive that hazy screen effect? Make it look like a dated cartoon?
Thank you so much!! I’m not sure what art program you use, but for me, I use procreate!
I basically copy my canvas and paste the entire image onto itself on a new top layer, use the gaussian blur tool to whatever amount of blurriness you prefer (I usually use anywhere from 3% - 10%) and then reduce the opacity to your liking! (I usually set the opacity of that layer anywhere from 10%-30%).
Next, I copy the canvas again, paste the image onto a new top layer, use the chromatic aberration tool, move my canvas slightly so it appears subtly, and then adjust opacity to your desired preference.
Lastly, I add noise onto the image on a final top layer, set the layer setting to ‘soft light’, and reduce the opacity (I usually use anywhere from 10%-30% opacity).
(You can even mess around with another filter/tint layer and set that layer setting to ‘luminosity’ and mess around with the opacity to your liking as well. I find that it reduces the contrast of the image, but in a pleasing and dreamlike way!)
I hope that helps!! We don’t believe in gatekeeping how we do things 😆
Have fun!
