Defeat, again. He, once more, had blacked out with no other pokémon on his lineup. He ran over to his Clefable, kneeling besides it, the one who barely even went back into the pokéball. “You need to rest”, he mouthed softly, as the pokémon protested following his directions after a while, finally giving in and going back into it’s ball. With his team, Jaehoon was mildly mannered and even soft to a certain extent, but as soon as it was over with, he got up looking as angry as one could be.
He knew about Sanghyun, an experienced trainer, he didn’t care about acting or whatever else, he knew he was experienced in battling and just by catching his eye, he had to battle. Of course, for some reason, he kept thinking he could win, like it was that easy, if he had the spirit then he would win.
But when a trainer goes into a losing streak… Man.
Notably, his spirit was clearly misplaced. For some reason, Jaehoon felt like he had reached his limit, he wasn’t getting any better and his instructions were failing his team. There was nothing worse than being unable become stronger, and the fact that he knew he still couldn’t defeat his father going back like this was clearly reflected in his pained eyes. He was angry, not at the man in front of him, but at himself and how weak he was, how he couldn’t even win in a casual match, let alone taking on the league or going back to the Dojo.
“Congratulations,” he muttered, although he didn’t mean it fully, “I’ll want a rematch next time I see you. If I can’t defeat a small fry like you, I can’t even be called a trainer at all.” He had a way to sting people with words, and consequently, get dragged into his loneliness even deeper.
