If I wanted to clean my kitchen with a sponge, I would use a pancake. If I wanted to eat something in my kitchen that was crispy, I would eat a waffle. Second point. Waffle is a better word than pancake. Pancake is two words put together, pan and cake. Waffle is a whole new word.
