It was all-around heartwarming, but some media reaction was troubling to say the least. Specifically, the BBC’s headline and report that called it “an even bigger prize.” The BBC has since changed its wording.

Chinese diver He Zi got silver in the women's 3-meter springboard diving final on Sunday and walked away with a ring.

Fellow Chinese diver Qin Kai surprised her just after the medal ceremony when he met her poolside and proposed. Qin dropped down to one knee and held up a small red box with a ring. Qin slipped the ring on the silver medal-winning He's finger and handed her a rose contained in a glass case.

With a big smile on her face, He covered her mouth and gave her new fiance a hug. The couple received a big cheer from the crowd as they left the pool.
