I just finished rewatching IT chapter 1 for preparation to watch Welcome to Derry, and I have to say I never noticed how much of an asshole this nasty ass clown was. And not only that, but he's also fucking funny with it, so you can't even be pissed off about it as much.

One of the asshole moments would totally be that scene of him and Eddie.

Poor kid just came to after fainting from fear, and there he was, opening a fridge, giving Eddie full view of himself, all contorted up till he got out and untwisted himself. Then he randomly says, "Time to float." The fact that poor Eddie had context for what this clown was capable of to say something like that, like it was code for something, must've been so scary for him. But of course, the scare isn't over because then the clown starts walking, and Eddie starts hyperventilating, and the asshole starts fucking mocking him. Which is foul, can you imagine mocking someone having a damn panic attack? Jail, straight to jail. After he gets close enough, he darts and grabs Eddie as he screams, and poor Eddie starts hitting him on the face, and the fucking asshole pretends to attempt to eat the kid's hand and fucking giggles about it (he's such a dick, like who fucking does that? An old eldrich being from space who feeds on souls, apparently) and just starts pretend crying with Eddie while he pins the kid's remaining good hand to his face.

The whole scene is just him being a dick to the kid, and somehow it's fucking funny to an extent that this cosmic creature that's lived a bajilion years is literally being an asshole to a child. Like all that power, and it's just being a dick to children with extra measures, and the hilarity in it is that it's enjoying being an asshole to them. He was giggling when Eddie was crying as he pretended that he was gonna chomp Eddie's good hand off. It's a mind reader, so it knows just how scared Eddie is, and not only that, he could smell the fear too, so that was almost unnecessary; it's like he was just doing it for the bit at that point. This scene really highlights how much he fucking hates these kids and how far he goes to scare them and make them scream. He enjoys the torture he gives them; it's fun for IT when the children are crying from absolute fear that IT's caused them. He giggles with delight at how scared Eddie was when he pretended to attempt to eat his hand. Definitely my most favorite scene of him.

sometimes i remember that ENG players of Genshin don't know that Wanderer's in-game nickname (阿帽) is supposed to be a stupidly adorable pun because 帽mào (hat) and 貓māo (cat) have almost identical pronunciation.

FINALLY got down to reading the actual Lackadaisy comics, fuzzy vision be damned, and reading it with my favorite character being Rocky based on first impressions is like going through the five stages of grief

I love how complex everyone is, I'm a sucker for that sort of thing if my rambles about Undertale and deltarune are anything to go off of

Rocky is still my favorite with Freckle definitely being my second favorite, but I have such mixed feelings about them and really everyone. I'll ramble under the cut cause there's spoilers, I know some people are trying to stay blind for the show

First thing is Rocky's connection to Mitzi. I think at first glance, with the way he is around Wick, it looks like a romantic interest but I think its something a little more complicated

I don't think hes necessarily attracted to her, rather he sees Wick as a threat to the whole operation they have going. If Mitzi gets Wick to invest into the Lackadaisy, he thinks she wouldn't need him to do the rum-running anymore, thus in his eyes he'd be useless to her. He's desperate for her attention because she's one of the only people whos given him the time of day, and seemingly right after he was kicked out by his own family

Which, that whole thing raises questions for me too. I've heard that apparently whatever happened was actually Freckle's fault but Rocky took the blame. I do wonder what he did that was so bad that Nina kicked him out, but not bad enough to cut him off entirely

Also I love Rocky to the moon and back but him bringing Freckle into his business while guilt tripping him is obviously scummy, hes not incapable of being a bad person (also the whole pig farm thing)

Thats about it for my rambling rn, not my usual rambles but I think this series is really neat and I can't wait for the animated show :3

Now that I've finally asked Skizz the same question, here's a throwback to the time I asked Impy the duck or elephants question on a Redstone2Riches stream back in October!

Impulse: Can't believe they're gonna take the...the bubble thing out. That's so much fun. What are they doing? You can literally launch up with bubbles now... [trails off, distracted] Impulse: [reads] Eloquence! Thank you so much for the Can You Dig It! Okay, yeah, I was gonna say; the other day you asked if you could do a silly question, and I said yes, and then you never did, and I was like, "wait... [chuckle] did I..." I thought I missed it.

[Note: I'd sent a DNR consent check on a Phasmo stream a few days earlier asking if he'd be okay doing more silly questions. Somehow I'd gotten it into my head that he seemed frazzled or distressed by them, especially since he'd opted not to answer a similar question from Sam a few streams later, and I wanted to make sure I wasn't being annoying. But he gave me the green light, and apparently remembered me asking even a few days later, which is very sweet.]

Impulse: Um. All right, here we go. "It's my favorite charity stream..."

[Note: I said "chatty". He misread it. But that's okay lol]

Impulse: Oh. [laughs] This stream. Got it. Okay. "Got another silly question for you. Last time, you answered if a hotdog is a sandwich. Now my question is: Would you rather fight one elephant-sized duck, or a hundred duck-sized elephants? Weapons and prep are allowed."

Impulse: A hundred duck-sized elephants...oh, okay, so the elephants are small like ducks, but there's a hundred of 'em. Or one elephant-sized duck. I mean, my brain immediately goes to just the one duck, 'cause that's one thing you have to worry about. Even though it's big, it's still just a duck—it can only do one attack at a time—versus getting attacked by a hundred small elephants. Like, elephants can be very aggressive, right? I think... Impulse: Oh, and they got [an] ad right when I answered! Oh my gosh. I said I was gonna be better about the ads! Impulse: [reading from chat] "Elephants have tusks"? Yeah. There's some stuff to think about there. It's not a simple yes...it's not a simple answer, is it? Definitely some stuff to think about. [aside] Okay, good, I do have some scaffolding. [looks up, reading chat] "Ducks fly"...yeah, ducks can swim and fly. Ducks can be aggressive, for sure! Yeah, I know. I know. But I mean...[dithers] a little snap of the beak...I mean, it could hurt. I dunno. Impulse: For all the people who just got ads and are back now, we didn't answer the question all the way. Although I did kinda lean towards the elephant-sized duck...one single duck to deal with...is my answer. Impulse: [aside] We still need five more scaffolding? What? I was hoping that'd be enough, 'cause that's all the string we have. Impulse: [reading from chat] "Elephants can't jump, so you gotta stand on a platform and you're set." Mmm. Well, there is good points on both sides, I suppose. [Fast-forwarding through bambooification] Impulse: [reading chat] The duck could probably one-hit me? The elephant-sized duck could probably one-shot me to death? Oof. I dunno, you guys are making good arguments. For sure. I just feel like having a hundred things trying to attack you, even if they're small, would be worse. [Fast-forwarding through Mini HUD talk] Impulse: [chuckles] I'm seeing a lot more people—[stammers] that's a tough question! I'm seeing a lot more people worried about the one duck, the one giant duck...gosh, a hundred duck-sized elephants though. They could probably do some real damage, guys. Yeah, I don't know. I'm not sold yet. [Fast-forwarding through inventory management] Impulse: [reading from chat] "If you get to prep, some melons and some wading pools and most of those ducks..." Oh! Okay. Prep for the duck fight. [laughs] Yeah. There you go. Impulse: Let's see. And we're fighting this? See, I might have a hard time fighting a duck. [small voice] 'Cause they're so cute. And elephants are like really smart too, so I don't wanna fight an elephant. They'd be like "what the heck, man?" Like why would the elephant be wanting to fight me? Did I invade its territory?
