Today is Peter Claffey’s 30th birthday—what a big day!

I hope he has the best day today and enjoys it (partyhard)

I’m so glad I found him thanks to Akotsk—not only has Dunk become one of my absolute favorite characters and means so, so much to me, but Peter has also simply become one of my favorite actors!

Even though he’s been in the business for such a short time, his naturalness and how he just gives 100% inspire me so much! And I think Peter himself is one of the most natural and humble people ever! I love his sense of humor and his cheerful disposition—he’s such a sunshine person ❤️

I’m afraid I can’t even find the right words to express how much I admire him, and I’m so glad to be a fan of such an amazing person

meet Counselor!Dunk

Summer Camp AU masterlist

Counselor!Dunk who's in the US for work experience, teaching middle schoolers rugby to stack up credentials for his Sports Science degree.

If Aerion is the camp’s bad-boy boyfriend, Dunk is camp’s good-boy HUSBAND. Alexa play daddys home by usher

Counselor!Dunk who’s appalled when he's only allowed to teach the campers tag rugby and football. No contact sports allowed. That's what he’s in the states for, for Christ’s sake. These Americans, man. Soft.

Counselor!Dunk who is perpetually soaking wet. He’s always pouring bottles of water over his head and stripping his shirt off to do laps with the campers bc he doesn’t think it’s fair they should have to exercise in this heat without moral support. And also, sometimes, he notices you looking. 

The only person in camp that uses the lake more than Tanselle. He wakes up early to swim laps and even when he's just walking around, will slip off to dunk (haha) his head under the surface, letting his t-shirt get soaked and shaking his hair dry like a dog.

Counselor!Dunk who, because of the heat, has an uncharacteristically short temper. Make no mistake—He's still the gentlest of giants. But he can be especially tough on the class clown types. And God forbid he get put on a shift with Aerion. The kids like watching them bicker but one of these days they're sure to get into a real fight. You don't fancy Aerion's chances.

Counselor!Dunk who like, actually can't talk to girls. Any of them. He stutters and blabbers around Tanselle, literally can't look her in the eye. With you? Hopeless isn't even the word. He grew up a total lad's lad–No sisters, no girl friends, no chatting them up at parties. Even in his first couple years at uni, all the other lads seemed to figure something out that he never got clued in on and now–Well, hopeless.

He and Valarr get on really well for this exact reason. Valarr's the charming one who women invite out to brunch. Dunk can get away with keeping his mouth shut because beside Valarr, people assume he's sweet and shy, rather than stupid.

Counselor!Dunk who meets you and knows, instantly, that you’re the one. He finds himself knowing this rather often, about pretty much woman who smiles enough at him. Often, it ends with pure daydreaming. Others, when he’s been lucky enough to end himself up with a girlfriend, she's grown bored of his dopey, soft-spoken tenderness and wanted him to make good on the expectations that six feet and seven inches of muscle and brawn set.

With you, he’s certain things will be different. He’s different now; the time out here has changed him, in more ways than one. So if big, rough and wild is what you want, it’s what you’ll get.

One of Dunk's favourite series is New Girl, which he caught in syndication during his mid-teens. He enjoyed both the humor and the friendships of the three main lads--and developed a huge crush on Jess (Zooey Deschanel, who like his other big-time crush, Wonder Woman 2017, had long, dark hair; once you find that out, you can't stop grinning to realize you've been his type all along). Since you've never watched but a few minutes of isolated episodes of the show, he insists on properly introducing it to you. It's his comfort program, after all.

Anyway, the two of you binge watch it each evening that you don't have anything more pressing to do for the next 2-3 weeks. Cozy and cuddling on the sofa or in bed, and you quickly become a fan. So, one day while shopping for new shoes for a family do next month, you find a pale pink dressing gown on discount, and you actually giggle out loud when you decide you have to buy it.

Waiting for a Friday night when you know the two of you have no special plans, you wait until after supper and surprise him by modeling it. Nothing underneath, of course. And, of course, Dunk is delighted and without a moment's hesitation--after you and he have a good laugh over how ingenious you've been--he pulls you breathlessly to him and manfully manages the closest possible approximate replay of Nick & Jess's first kiss.

You end up not leaving the flat until early Sunday afternoon.
