Harpy mickrin AU yay! Sorta loosely set in Aatom87's harpy & zookeeper AU- Rin is a sooty owl and Mickbell is a cockatiel. You know how parrots are...

The zoo keeps them in the same enclosure out of lack of funds to try and fix behavioral issues. Rin was being too self-isolating and Mickbell was starting shit with other harpies and bonded with zookeeper Kuro instead, which is unhealthy, so they put them in a side enclosure to bond together and assigned Kabru to it instead. Thus they are forced to have enrichment together.

Kabru has it tough since they both act like they hate him, except one is only a tsundere act lol. Mickbell like "huh?? You stealing my cagemate punk?? Wanna fight??" and he's not even wrong lol. Tiny bird very angry very aggressive, cue Kabru getting scratched every day... Kabru leaving their enclosure after a whole showdown of cockatiel Mick screaming scratching biting inflicting him little wounds and then Mick goes right back to "I'm just a little guy"ing @ Rin. Keep going buddy i'm sure... one day...... you'll win her over and make her laugh. Or something.

Although hmmm Kabru hating monsters would mean he wouldn't work there in the first place. Maybe.... He's there undercover to investigate the zoos for corruption or animal-monster abuse or smth... Did bother me that the show appears to be actively interrogating Louis’s murder of Bruce as, while will intentioned, ultimately utilizing Claudia’s own suffering as just another way to assuage his guilt, while simultaneously—and seemingly completely sincerely— heavily leaning on her suffering as a framing device to draw parallels in order to evoke sympathy for Lestat. I wouldn’t really have an issue with this, because the two situations are ultimately very comparable and relevant to draw comparisons between but it does end up it feeling like a bit of a double standard; Louis's is plot line is interrogating something the writers are doing for Lestat’s plot uncritically. I will wait to see if they do anything with that though.

#iwtv #tvl #tvl spoilers #I've seen other people comment on this and I sort of dk?#The fact that they are layered on top of one another seems a bit heavy handed which would make sense from a Lestat POV #but less from a writing POV at least for the sake of subtly.#I think its an incredibly relevant parallel to make I just don’t know if they are going to comment on the way it was somewhat cynically #used on Lestat’s plotline the way they are setting up doing for Louis.#It also further puts into question the framing device of the season—if Lestat is really narrating all these events #and knows even the broad strokes #of what happened then it seems like this should have been more of a revelation for him that he shares so much in common with his daughter.#I’ll be interested if this is touched on later.#it was Lestat drawing these parallels then it would be a future version of him #so I would not expect that he would react it in the flashback time line However VoiceOver lestat #could have even a something small to the effect of “well both of these men are dead but that didn’t change anything for either of us etc”#which makes me believe that is was more of a nondiegetic choice by the writers to have claudia’s words narrate Lestat’s assault primarily #for the sake of the audience.#which I think would be an bit unfortunate choice if it is left to go completely unaddressed #tl;dr I don't care that it was done it was the way that it was done and that there has so far been no reflection on it afterwards #im rambling
