Thoughts on Akatsuki no yona: chapter 196 part 5

Its easy to say king Il  is crazy for bringing up praying and king hirryuy and yona protecting the land...but we also know the gods are REAL in this story. The dragon powers are real. Zeno is imortal. the priests from the head priest, kaashi and yoon’s priest are all legit. and have been confirmed to be able to talk to god, recognize yon-hi’s blood and who yona is(king hiriyu). The dragons HAVE helped solve all of the problems before so-won could get to it. helped stop the slavering ring on the coast. Helped stop the drug ring with Lila and without them Lila probably would have died and it was that situation which helped the water tribe finally decided to act. Yona has found the dragons and has helped bring the firetribe a crop that could save them which is something soo-won never thought about.

Th prophecy is happened. and all the real priests we’ve met have been kind. the head priest was empathetic who visited yon-hi’s family and showed kindness. grieved their losses and was happy they existed. yu-hon didn’t like that the royal family bowed to pray infront of the head priest but there is no evidence that the priest wasn’t just as kind and understanding as the two other priests we know. Kaashi didn’t hold a grudge or hatred toward yon-hi and yu-hon. revealing her identity to yon-hi and trying to talk to her and comfort her when yon-hi got over whelmed and even wanted to come visit her. Telling yon-hi that isnt their meaning in living a good life and being happy to exist when yon-hi was stressing out about not having a meaning to be alive. Tried to comfort yon-hi and reminder yon-hi that even yona is just a regular person.

and yoon-s priest was super kind and could speak to the gods and gave away hewls to help others.

King Il was definitely too idealistic and naive in certain ways. he didn’t know the best way to enforce and spread his values about fighting which tends to be glorified in the kingdom....but also didn’t understand that right now armies and physical strength is nessacary and that by not strengthening the miliatay at all he was leaving the people more vulnerable. he killed his brother even though yu-hon would be able to get people to rally for Il and it wasnt smart and contrasts how yona and soo-won tolerated the people who hurt them if it benifits the country for a while.

But I’m still fixated on hak seeing king Il hold that sword with his bare hands and not let on that it hurts.

Do you guys think Yu-hon killed Kaashi/ordered her death? or do you think Il jumped to conclusions thinking there was no way yu-hon let kaashi off like how Il jumped to conclusions about why yu-hon would lie and hide who yon-hi was? Killing his brother for nothing due to his grief because he though yu-hon killed his wife? Because I was leaning toward jumping to conclusions at first but then yu-hon saying that Il got tricked by that woman..... yu-hon let her go because she was a low level priestess and stuff is a possibility. after all his wife wanted to check if she was okay originally and suffered from her mother killing herself over what yu-hon did.

But yu-hon also expressed vivid hatred deepening for king hirryu and the religion when he was with his wife and he DOES have a tendency to think killing will solve alot of problems with evidence in the past. it doesn’t FEEL like he would so easily let it go. the dudes INTENSE. and Yu-hon started bad mouthing the late Kashi saying she tricked Il and the grandpa and stuff. thats not really giving me confidence that Yu-hon didn’t cause kaashi’s death and can sound like excuses for why Il is better off without her. -_-

and only yon-hi knows the disease might give yu-hon a motivation to project hatred against kaashi or that she must go. Its easy to assume Il was in the wrong and jumped to conclusions again about his big brother who he didn’t understand on some level. On the other Il doesn’t seem the type to plan to kill his brother with no proof other than a imagined motive and the timing of kaashi going to visit yon-hi. and yu-hon gave off a weird vibe after kaashi died and yon-hi was upset by it.

High Priest: My lord, you're exaggerating.

Ardel: They hate me! Some of them said so to my face, they were cheering Mooncrest on.

Head Priest: They're the common folk, they're dramatic!

Ardel: I'm used to being hated. That's my thing. But I can't function as a regent unless that hatred is kept in check by a thin, calculated veneer of invulnerability.

Head Priest: My lord, please, we have--

Ardel: And another thing.... I may have cried... when I was stabbed. They may have seen me cry.

Head Priest: My lord, everyone cries when they're stabbed! There's no shame in that!

The fortune that the head priest has given Xie Lian is pretty accurate, like everything in his future became worse. Still I also somehow feel like his future being black could also mean, that nothing can be seen and his future is completely open. I like my theory better to be honest.

I shouldn't be smiling like this after reading the last few chapters, except maybe for the fact that I was partially right again (like in a twisted way, but still).

The whole backstory of White No-Face guy and his relations with Xie Lian and Hua Cheng and basically everyone else was a big thing to digest. And honestly the way Head Priest took his sweet time to tell it like a bedtime story, as if they all are currently not in grave danger, should have annoyed me. But somehow it didn't and I loved it. I know it makes no sense, maybe I'm just once again blinded by my love for the characters, that I forgave every other shortcoming of how a book is written. Don't know, maybe it was actually written so crafty, that even though it should normally be called bad writing, it just proved critics wrong, by doing exactly what it shouldn't and still being good.

Anyways that was not the point of my posting. The point is I love Hua Cheng and Xie Lian. I mean just with few sentences they get me grinning like a madman. And I loved how Head Priest is having THE TALK with Xie Lian. OMG the whole ending of chapter 220 was precious.

Okay if you ever feel it's okay to give into one of your hobbies or other pleasures while being in such a dire situation like the Head Priest playing cards while being imprisoned by White No-Face, then let me tell you, you are fing addicted! What the heck Head Priest!?
