I'm working on a masterpost where hopefully I can explain a lot of things... but for now, trying to describe the premise...
Partially it's a "Ghost used the voidheart to bring the vessels back to life" AU, but with the complications of over 1000 little shadow children who only know murder running around Hallownest. Plus some vessels having complicated histories that make it difficult to get along.
Another angle to describe the premise is that the Pale King built Hallownest knowing that he was dying, planning to create vessels as immortal heirs in a desperate effort to make Hallownest last forever- or at least lasts longer than him.
Been calling the AU SilverWar but I'm not happy with that name.
Things have been a little slow, so I decided it’s time to post some villain-centric whump prompts! Below are two lists, one for a villain caretaker and one for a villain whumpee.
Feel free to use these prompts for fanfiction or original fiction! Consider tagging me though- I’d love to see what you’ve written!
Villain Caretaker
One of the villain’s lackeys or subordinates dies (most likely in a confrontation with the hero or the authorities) and leaves behind a scared dependent whumpee (ex. A child) who the villain must become a caretaker for.
A hero whumpee is tortured by a new villain and escapes but can only make it to villain caretaker’s doorstep before passing out.
Villain caretaker leaves a loved one whumpee with the heroes, believing their sense of morality will prevent them from harming whumpee. However, when villain caretaker returns for whumpee, they find that a vengeful ally of the hero (whumper) has hurt whumpee. Bonus points if whumpee leaves their encounter with whumper with a scar.
The one, the only, the classic: “Who did this to you?” Villain caretaker says.
Villain Whumpee
Caretaker is forced to leave whumpee when they need them most, leading to whumpee’s descent into a villain. Caretaker unexpectedly returns at the height of whumpee’s villain arc.
The final battle leaves villain whumpee scarred and defeated but things only get worse when they return to their superior, who takes it upon themselves to punish villain whumpee. Villain whumpee is only saved by the hero, who steps in as caretaker and vows revenge on the villain whumpee’s superior.
A villain whumpee who’s aware they’re fictional begs the author to end it all. They don’t even notice when caretaker approaches them, but caretaker eventually soothes villain whumpee. Bonus points if this leads to the caretaker’s own revelation that they’re fictional.
Nice and simple: “Where’s that cocky grin now?” Whumper smirks.
Ok so- my gf @lillatoons usually does the headcanon posting... but imma spit out some stuff about my oc boni who... lilla basically designed for me but hush...
First off, they used to be... very problematic as a kid, as their mom's "always smile" style parenting really rubbed them the wrong way
They eventually moved in with the baron at like.... 10ish?? Kawn (or kiwi) was only about 5 or 6 at the time
They usually turn to just playing video games when they fall into a depression slump, unlike their sibling, who passes out on benches for 14 hours
The one (1) good parent move baron did was put bon bon in therapy for their anger issues, as they liked causing property damage as a pastime
Mess with kawn and you will regret it as bon bon will make you pay
Boni takes after their dad more than kawn does size wise, thus, boni calls them bitty
Kawn used to look like a carbon copy of boni till he got a different style and haircut
Boni would sometimes get nightmares and climb up through kawn's window just to sit with kawn for a bit (and yes I know kiwi sleeps on the second floor of the house)
No joke I had an entire draft written up about this au for me and Hakkai but last second decided to write it for Jack and Olivia instead bc it fits a little better. I’ll keep the original draft and put it under a readmore for anyone who cares.
Also this basically turned into a minific? Whoops.
The logistics and laws of the Bright Family™ have always been a little hard to follow. Anyone who looks too hard into it (not that most sane people would dare) might question who’s really in charge. On paper it’s Mikell, the oldest of the siblings who earned his position through ruthless but effective means, and he’s certainly a man to be feared and left unquestioned.
But anyone who knows anything about the family will have certainly heard of Jack, the second eldest child and the most infamous. He’s an enigma- no accounts on his existence can even be trusted because they all seem to differ wildly in regards to his appearance. Most claim that he’s a man, but his age, appearance, and even apparent race never quite match up between tellings. Some people swear that she’s a woman but, just as before, no two can agree what exactly she looks like. Some still claim that they don’t have any apparent gender at all. It’s theorized that, somehow, the name Jack Bright just became a title that’s passed between members of the Family whenever it’s convenient, almost like James Bond.
But there’s something all the stories share: the sharp dressed blonde who is always by his side. A simple look seems to convey entire conversations when she and whichever Jack Bright happens to be on duty that day locked eyes. She eyes everyone with a deep scrutiny that makes them uncomfortable, like she could recite their secrets back to them if she keeps looking long enough. Jack calls her Olivia, when he calls her anything at all. She keeps a pistol in her coat and wears black sheepskin gloves.
Some think that she’s the real Jack Bright, listening in on the conversations while all these other stand ins do the dirty work and let her keep her hands clean. But when a woman (name unimportant) is brought before Jack Bright (reason unimportant) and the blindfold is torn from her face, she notices two things.
The figure standing beside the figure is exactly as she’s always been described.
The figure in the chair wears the face of no person this unnamed woman has ever heard tale of. Instead, it wears the face, body, and clothes of her older brother, (missing for a week and presumed dead), along with a strange ruby and diamond pendant, suspended on his neck by a thin silver chain and catching the low light like the scales of a fish below the water’s surface.
“Now then,” says the figure in the chair with a grin the unnamed woman’s brother had never worn before. “I think we have some things to discuss.”
~~~I’ve been thinking about this since last night and that’s a REALLY hard one :0 None of my f/os scream MAFIA to me (except Graham since he’s mafia-adjacent but even then) but after a lot of thought this is what I came up with.
Hakkai wouldn’t be The Big Ruthless Leader™ (Sanzo might be) but he’d be up there, someone trusted to handle matters quickly and efficiently. With such a pleasant demeanor and kind smile nobody suspects him of anything when he’s out and about in the world, but at the same time if he comes after you you KNOW you’re fucked.
Also, I know I just said he’s not the Big Ruthless Leader and Sanzo probably is but tbh Hakkai is canonically one of the only motherfuckers Sanzo isn’t absolutely annoyed by every second of every day, so they’d actually be on quite equal footing. So Sanzo may be at the top of the pyramid per say but it’s an equally as egregious action to go against Hakkai’s orders or wishes.
As much as I’d like to say I’d be Hakkai’s second in command that honor probably goes to Gojyo- they work and fight so well together, after all. But I’d still be someone he trusts to help when things need… taken care of. And of course I’m also his biggest soft spot and weakness…
As requested by nobody but me, I present Bowuigi holiday headcanons!
(note: Bowser and Luigi’s relationship is established by the point these headcanons take place)
There are no winter holidays in the Koopa Kingdom. As a matter of fact, the idea of a “holiday” is completely foreign to the koopas. Still, when Bowser hears about Christmas… he mandates that his subjects observe all winter holidays, as he is unsure which Luigi celebrates.
Luigi wakes up to the sound of an off-key rendition of Jingle Bells. He heads to the throne room and finds Kamek playing an improvised piano as Bowser smoothes his hair down underneath a Santa Claus hat. When Bowser and Luigi’s eyes meet, blushing ensues.
A quick conversation confirms that Luigi just celebrates Christmas, so Kamek rushes to put away the other holiday stuff around the castle. Bowser Jr. might have possibly left out a dreidel he was playing with and now Luigi thinks that Bowser celebrates Hanukkah. Luigi promises he’ll celebrate it with Bowser next year.
Bowser tries to bake gingerbread cookies but gets impatient and breathes fire on them in a fit of wrath. They’re a bit crispy but Luigi swears they’re the best cookies he’s ever had.
Back to the dreidel: Bowser Jr. and the koopalings could not get over it. Kamek hadn’t seen them so obsessed since they discovered cootie catchers.
At the end of the night, Kamek starts playing “I’ll be home for Christmas” and Luigi gets homesick. Suddenly, there’s a knock at the door- when they open it, they find Mario, Peach, and one of the toads. Luigi invites them in and forgets about his homesickness almost immediately.
As the song finishes, Bowser smiles and states “Home is where the spleen is.” No one bothers to correct him.
If it’s alright can you do a platonic headcanon of any Doctor Who character’s/ regenerations you’d like meeting a reader who’s like a sky kid. From Sky:Children of light and how’d they react to reader being really friendly and trying to befriend them with a candle. As well as trying to guide them around and drag them away from potential danger (like if they feel a krill is nearby)
This is a great request! Thanks, @themagicspacenerd!
I’ve decided to do multiple regenerations and companions, most notably the twelfth Doctor, the eleventh Doctor, the tenth Doctor, and Clara. Just for fun, they’re all in the same time period and location for these headcanons. What can I say, I love a good crossover.
The twelfth Doctor nearly walked past the child but stopped once he realized what he’d just seen, raising an enormous bushy eyebrow.
Similarly, Eleven walks past- but unlike Twelve, who stops where he’s standing, Eleven bounces back to meet the child’s eyes. “Hello there!”
Ten sees the child from a distance and gets out his sonic screwdriver to scan them. The child misinterprets this as him holding out a candle and asking to be friends.
Before the child can get out a candle, Clara walks up. Her face lights up as she says hello and compliments the child on their cape. “Are you pretending to be a superhero?”
The child doesn’t answer but finally manages to get out a candle and holds it out to Ten.
“What’s this?” Ten comes closer and, as the child reaches the candle out, touches his sonic screwdriver to the candle. The light travels through the sonic screwdriver until the whole thing shines. The light slowly fades.
The child looks up, studying Ten’s face, and Ten realizes they couldn’t see the details of his face before.
Ten tells everyone to touch a light to the child’s candle and they do.
The child perks up once they can see everyone’s face, and they put both hands to their chest in an expression of gratitude.
Bonus: “Oi!” Donna yelps as the child drags her away from a weeping angel. “Where exactly do you think you’re taking me?”
With Loki season 2 coming out at the end of the summer, I decided it's time to post some office AU prompts! (because we'd pay to see our blorbos goof around in business casual)
There are two prompt lists, platonic and romantic.
As always, feel free to use these prompts for fanfiction or original fiction! Consider tagging me though- I’d love to see what you’ve written!
And please don't hate me for the last prompt… I ran out of ideas…
Platonic
Character A gets a promotion that includes a new office and personal assistants/secretaries. Unfortunately, the secretaries are Character B and Character C, the two most notorious troublemakers in the company. Character A comes to the office one day to find their desk is missing.
A hurricane turns an office building into a makeshift shelter for a hundred or so people- plus the office workers, who are still expected to work due to a misunderstanding with corporate.
Character D sets up an elaborate treasure hunt in the office for Character A, B, and C. The twist? …Character D locked themselves in the broom closet where they hid the “treasure” and refuses to call for help and ruin their treasure hunt.
The office Christmas party episode: Someone spiked the punch and now the boss is drunk. The boss proceeds to embarrass every one of their employees with cheesy pick-up lines, bad dance moves, and worst of all: dad jokes.
Romantic
Character A has always resented Character B for stealing a promotion from them. When Character A gets stuck working with Character B, they expect their hostility to be returned. What they don't expect is Character B flirting with them.
Character A proposes to Character B during an important meeting. Things go horribly wrong- but do they still get married?
Character A accidentally submits a paper with Character B's name in a heart. The person in charge of filing paperwork is a huge gossip. Character B is an oblivious idiot. Everything that can go wrong will.
The office Christmas party episode: Character A has been trying to find a convenient time to confess their love for Character B for months, and thinks they'll finally have their chance at the office Christmas party. But when they discover that the "office Christmas party" is actually a yearly raid on a rival company, will they still be able to find the right moment to confess how they feel?
