Rose had been living alone in the prime universe for almost three years now, and she hated it. Well, she didn’t hate it, she just didn’t particularly like it. Compared to her old life, this new one was well and truly dull to say the least. Her old life was fun and exciting, often consisting of an adventure or two with the Doctor in the TARDIS, travelling to all sorts of places and frequently got into trouble when they did so. But Rose left the TARDIS, not long after the battle of the Daleks, fearing that she wouldn’t be able to live the Doctor’s extraordinary life forever, and at some point, she would need to settle back down on Earth.
Saying goodbye to the Doctor was incredibly hard, but necessary. He managed to set her up in a comfortable apartment in the centre of London however, with enough money to last until she got back on her feet, his parting gift if you’d like to call it that. He promised that he would drop in from time to time to see how she was doing, but that hadn’t happened yet. But Rose wasn’t too bothered though, as she’d got a job as the assistant to a CEO of a well known enterprise. It certainly paid the bills and other things, but Rose was beginning to get the itch to travel again, but there was nothing that she could do until the Doctor arrived, which could be a long time from now.
The following Monday morning, Rose got herself ready for work and arrived at her desk outside the office of her boss, ready to begin the day’s work. It was going to be a long day.
