I enjoy lightlark for what it is not what I think it should be

still really gross to me that Grim has- 1) always known how Isla is because of her father being a nightshade general 2) always known exactly how young she is 3) knew that her guardians kept her locked in her room on at least a semi regular basis. and in spite of all of that still eventually chooses to pursue a romantic relationship with her

Isla and Oro’s relationship in these early chapters are something just so special to me. I’m personally just so tired of the will-they-won’t-they, enemies-to-lovers-but-oh-no-they’re-so-hot dynamic that’s run rampant in romance and romantacy and ruined so many good plot ideas for years now. that Isla and Oro are actually taking it slow and feeling each other out and learning how this relationship would realistically work between them even with physical, tangible proof that they love each other is just such a breath of fresh air
