So, a quick google suggests 400 years=20 generations and yeah, Lucy’s family is fuckin dedicated holy fuck. Seriously, especially seeing as they completely forgot what it was for- they kept waiting for the day to open the gate, passing the knowledge down generation to generation, all without knowing what it would actually do.
