alternate term for an intimate partner, to explicitly mean a partner of the heart.
partner is, of course, already gender neutral- however, some dont like how it sounds kinda professional, or would like a term that cant be misinterpreted as business-related.
use is open for any type of love/intimate partnership: romantic, sexual, queer platonic, or otherwise.
