It was hard to believe that not so long ago he was a student in Xavier’s Academy, learning the full extent of his mutation and capabilities alongside the prettiest boy he’d ever laid eyes on. A boy that eventually became his boyfriend. A prophecy not even Prophet could have predicted for himself yet as wonderful as that dream turned reality was, it came crashing down nearly a month ago. Prophet, Emery, and Iceman were three of the newest additions to the X-men team and while being part of the rescue team to come after Emery and Iceman, Prophet had witnessed something that shocked all three of his eyes. The blonde aquatic prophetic mutant witnessed Emery and Bobby in a heated kiss, images that still haunted his thoughts damn near 30 days later.
That had been it for him. Wolverine’s loud breath and heavy footsteps had given away that the duo had been “saved” by them arriving, yet it was too late. The minute Prophet and Emery’s eyes met and he saw whatever look Emery shot back at him, he closed The White King off from his life. He’d sensed something between Iceman and Emery for some time but he’d convinced himself it was his own insecurities and it wasn’t fact. Yet there was the answer. He’d given Emery the silent treatment, used some beta-tested equipment mirroring Magneto’s infamous helmet to keep Emery’s thoughts out of his head. Emery’s number was blocked on his phone and he used every excuse in the book to avoid him or deny him any chance of explanation. For Charlie, it was all or nothing. He’d given Emery his all, and now it was pure nothingness.
Unfortunately for him, he saw the roster. What was Professor Xavier thinking? Blatantly glaring back at him on the computer panel screen for the mission they all discussed at debriefing was “Prophet & Emery”. The smaller X-jet was already running and as he looked at the lockers which held their suits he noticed Emery’s wasn’t illuminated through the doors which meant the pretty blonde already had his on and was most likely in the jet waiting.
Charlie took his time, tying back his medium length blonde wavy hair along with a headband over his third eye. Despite his third eye needing to be open for his full capabilities, he was still ashamed of his mutation and the last person he wanted to show any weakness in front of was Emery. He wouldn’t be able to access his capability of slowing time with his eye blocked, but the way his emotions were and his power over water, he was confident he didn’t need it. He suited up and eventually made his way towards the jet. Beast was outside of it and talking about how the location was already programmed and the jet would be on autopilot but he blocked the doctor out, climbing the steps inside the craft. He barely glanced at the mutant clad in a beautiful diamond white suit, rather immediately he moved to his seat and buckled himself in.
The White King...pft. He was no king in his eyes anymore.
