This month has proven to be beneficial to me. I have quit my second job to allow for more time to workout. I have been lifting since 2022 but I haven't been putting as much energy into it as I wanted to due to working my second job. Since 2022 I have fallen into many cyclical behavior of dieting, lifting, and running. I was unable to balance any of it due to stress of taking on a second job in 2024.
Now it's 2025. I've decided to change things up and focus more on what I actually want to do. I wish my fitness journey were more about aesthetics or fitting into jeans. However, no matter how hard I try those things never matter to me for more than a couple of weeks. What actually matters to me strength. Pure strength made out of hard and well-fed muscles. I want to cultivate power within my body.
I've decided to keep a few things from 2022 which have been my Caroline Girvan workouts. I have experienced some pretty cool strength gains with her. Other than that I'm changing everything. I'm not running for the entire year of 2025. This is a hard one for me since I use running for maladaptive day dreaming and mental health cleansing. I'm incorporating a different approach by doubling down on strength and using Heather Robinson workouts which are a lovely combo of HIIT, strength, and even some pilates.
I've had about 4 days since quitting my second job so I've been using that time to workout each day. My hope is that I can get to working out 2 times a day. I want to get more explosive powerful strength HIIT while also packing on more muscle. Since I've been so inconsistent in the last year and abandoning myself in the last 2 months due to work related stress I am clearly still building up my stamina.
For now I will work on just working out once a day everyday for February.
