Thank god. Thank god.

Harper is done. I’m so, so relieved.

Also sad. I’ve supported the NDP since before I was old enough to vote, and I was really hoping for a Liberal-NDP coalition, but it looks like it’s going to be a Liberal majority. The NDP lost pretty much all the seats they gained in the last election.

At the same time, having to concede to a Trudeau is probably way more painful for Harper than anything else could have been, and part of me is honestly quite pleased about that. My boyfriend told me today that his dad voted Liberal purely to spite Harper, and I can understand that impulse.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall for that concession call. Right now I’m imagining Harper befouling 24 Sussex Drive in a fit of pique before he leaves.
