"Moiraine Sedai," Lanfear drawled as she saw the other woman. "Just the person I was looking for." She didn't precisely like Moiraine, but she supposed there was a sort of respect from her towards the other woman. She could see they were more alike than Moiraine would feel comfortable with. Both were smart, capable, and above all, ruthless women. Women who would do anything to get what they wanted.

The difference between them was that Lanfear chose the dark while Moiraine chose the light. Maybe Moiraine could be swayed toward the dark; she could sense the dark parts in the other. She would be a formidable dark friend. "I must say that I approve of your fire dragon; it was quite the show." If she sounded a bit smug, it was because she actually was. Moiraine had done her part as Lanfear had wanted her to do.

siuan tried not to get mad or annoyed, but everything was so complicated between them ever since they were told of the prophecy. ❝what would you want me to do? i am the amyrlin seat. i have hundreds of aes sedai, i can not just follow my heart, no matter how much i want to.❞

She now knew that this wasn't Selene, but she still viewed her as such. Lanfear, that was her name, one of the Forsaken. There to haunt her, but why hadn't she killed her? She had enough chances to do so. Moiraine said it was because she had loved the dragon, but she wasn't the same as the dragon. For one, she was female, with saidin power. And she might have the same soul, she didn't think she was much like her former lover at all. She couldn't be. Right?

"Why are you here, Lanfear?" She questioned, looking up at her, trying to keep her nerves in check. "What do you want from me?"

                   ˜”*°•.     More  and  more  terrifying  was  it  becoming ;  the  bitter  reality  unraveling  right  before  his  eyes .   But  had  leaving  ever  helped  him ?  He  needed  them ,  needed  someone  to anchor  him  ,  to  help  him  last  long  enough  to  fight  the  Dark  one .   He  couldn’t  risk  her  life,  though  -  couldn’t  jeopardize  her  while  knowing  he  was  unreliable .  For  a  moment  too  long ,  silence  lingered  in  the  air .  He  cared  for  her,  loved  her  -  and  well,  this  was  something  that  he  couldn’t  afford .  That  neither  of  them  could.

❝ And  how  am  I  supposed  to  keep  on  knowing  that  I  killed  you ?  ❞  Words  he  couldn’t  even  look  at  her  while  uttering .  For  it  was  something  he  had  yet  to  share .  The  nightmare  he  had  last  night,  how  he’d  woken  up  with  threads  of  saidin  surrounding  his  hands .  What  if  he’d  accidentally  done  it  in  his  sleep ?  What  if  one  night  he  woke  up  and  the  nightmare  had  become  reality ?   ❝ Because  if  I  stay,  this  is  what  is  going  to  happen.  And  I  won’t  allow  it.  ❞

Moiraine understood the meaning behind her lover's words, but they hit her more violently than they had been spoken. This was not what she needed from Siuan. Or wanted. The grand sacrifice hidden behind those words. To give up one's self. To walk into the shadow for the other. The Aes Sedai needed the Amyrlin to be selfish. They both needed the kind of self-preservation that was so innate to every living thing. Moiraine needed Siuan to make it through. To survive. But perhaps that was the true meaning. The wish they shared.

"Don't!" A shake of her head. Lips pressed into a thin line. "That was never needed." Moiraine stepped closer, reached out to cup the other's cheeks. "Love yourself first, and there will still be enough left for me!"

"Dammit!" She muttered under her breath, thinking she was alone, practicing a new weave that she had difficulty with. She knew that she was more powerful than most others here; she could feel it, but that didn't mean she didn't have to work for some of the weaves. Mostly, she learned after seeing them once that she just wanted some more challenge. She had been trying to weave air, earth, and water together, so she could manipulate it into a storm. She knew she shouldn't, because it was a new one and they weren't supposed to think of weaves by themselves, not when they were still novices. But what were the rules for, if not to be broken? That and she was bored out of her mind half of the time. In her free time, she would read, think about, and practice new weaves or hang out with Siuan and Moiraine. That was when she heard the other novice; her blue eyes lifted as she released her weave. "How much did you see?"

She hadn't been here long. Having to get used to being on her knees, cleaning the floors, and doing everything the Aes Sedai wanted of her. She knew it was necessary to get a grasp on her channeling. Mierin had already gotten close to burning herself out, and it had been scary, so getting a grasp was a necessary thing. She had taken a liking to her neighbour at the novices' quarters. Well, both her neighbors.

The others found her weird, but Siuan and Moiraine had both welcomed her with open arms when she arrived a few months after they had. Mierin knocked on Siuan's door, half expecting Moiraine to be there as well, but she was surprised to find that she was alone. "Hey, care for some company?" She questioned with a smile.
