"Seee like this!" He mentions, a welcoming smile settled on his face as he repeats the gesture upon her own. He was tenderly cradling her cheeks as his thumbs tilt upward, drawing that particular curve of her mouth to a smile. "It's always here when I notice it--" He adds in, slowly easing the pressure for the descent. "This is the feeling to remember that you've been smiling hard. Do I get'cha in that good of a mood?"
Lessons of the heart come slowly to one who’d lived her short life without, warmth in each pulse of its beat as she explored the wide world of being. She feels so much now, and remembers things she’d already known, and cherishes these little bursts of light that had found a home inside her chest. Happy. That was the name she’d given this bouncy feeling. It danced in her step as she freely wandered the winding trails of Twilight Town, sang softly through her fingers as she traced beautifully smooth lines of color across paper in her drawings, felt it in the warmth of the company of friends. It added color to her life even in the quiet when quiet so often would only suffocate. She’d felt it more when he was near, Light’s guardian giving that smile to a Witch who could accept it now without pretense or deception. Now she could return guiltless what Sora himself offered so freely.
Apparently she’d returned it more often than she realized, as now that mischevious island boy had decided to take matters into his own hands. Literally.
As his palms rest at her cheeks, stunning her to stillness even as, she wondered to herself if he knew how like the sun he was. He was so bright, the light of his heart shining through that curious and energetic smile, bidding her still against the hands that were warming her face like an island breeze. At least she was partially certain his hands were the cause, even as he twists the soft curves of her face to suit his newest whimsy.
Truthfully, Naminé can’t even be surprised when he finds yet another way to squish her face.
“Sthhhh….. Sthooooo-ra…!”
She struggled to slur his name out coherently through her lips he’d forcefully pushed back into a goofy smile, and the grin it inspired from him spurred a small gasp of a laugh through her awkward expression. It sputtered in a way far more unflattering than she would have liked, and that it only seemed to delight him only made the situation worse. Her shoulders shook with the bubbling laughter she tried to suppress, and she could feel the way his fingers gently pinched and pulled her poor face into new expressions, her reactions his instigation to continue this squishy attack till the little Witch could take no more; Naminé made a grab for his forearms, little effort needed to hold them in place as she pulled her face away with a shake of her head to liberate herself from his pinchy grasp, lips pressed together as though a defiance against the smile and giggles bubbling up from that happy place in her chest. It was, of course, no use.
“Sora, don’t! You’ll make it sore!”
She never answered his final question. But with the way they both double over in a chorus of airy laughter and pokey fingers, it was clear he already has his answer.
