CROSSxSKULLED ❁ RYUJI-KUN
Not even the high class all you could eats could ever make him nod so quick in his life. “S’just– y’know! Much as the garden deal has been about hands on learning too.” That curve of nervousness mixed with relaxation just be seeing her thought filled visage had the stomach doing cartwheels, mind set on fire, just anything try staving off these nerves that aimed to end his game before she even had the chance to answer.
Only when an answer does arrive did his features perk up, that low, shaken breath is drawn into a soft gasp as he stares at Haru as if he’s a deer caught before some headlights. Was this for real?
Even that playful addition of a nickname that signifies her being within his case jolted him with adrenaline and a case of the warm fuzzies. “Sheesh, in this case there ain’t no damn holdin’ back. We’re gonna be making a champion outta ya so you can win these rounds!”
”Then without further ado–”
Scooting a bit closer himself, their legs practically touched and soon he’s joining her hands upon the battlefield known as the controller. Holding such a high focus on the moment made it all too aware when his hands softly rest upon her’s, a sublime softness being noted, tied with a warmth that was simply Haru. Finding himself between the clutch of determination, elation and embarrassment left him just rolling with the punches as he comes smile towards her as well–
Except he’s looking more red like a tomato all the while.
A few testing motions were given, their thumbs guiding the control stick or a silly attempt guide her fingers to the respective buttons, something that rouses a soft bit of laughter. “Ain’t too rough on ya, ain’t it? I talked about you crushing this thing but damn my hands are bigger than I thought.”
She felt no inclination to shy away as he grew closer, taking the initiative herself to finish closing the distance between them. Haru watched with a wide eyed fascination as Ryuji adjusted her hands with his own with what she could only call a skill of experience. She envied him, really. It was such a small thing, but Haru was so woefully hopeless with any kind of technology. Even the most basic of things left her terribly confused.
But Ryuji always seemed to have so much fun with these games of his, even when he lost. Granted, he did have to explain to her that the ‘gamer rage’ he expressed in those moments were all in good fun. Video games really did odd things to people, didn’t they? And she had dedicated herself to this craft, all at the hands of her brand new sensei.
“Not at all!” Her smile was bright and reassuring. “I’m rather comfortable!”
Was that the right word? Was the room a little warmer? Haru didn’t allow herself the chance to consider, brow furrowing once more with determination.
“Please hold nothing back!”
Feeling oddly energized, Haru pulled back one hand from beneath his to offer a tiny fistpump as a proud declaration of her determination. An excelling student in this she was not, but Haru Okumura was nothing if not determined. And as butterflies fluttered in her stomach with the replacement of their hands, Haru had to admit that spending this time learning with Ryuji was fun all on its own.
“I am determined to defeat this first level villain before day’s end!”
