#65 Heep
Book name: Wolves of the Beyond Author: Kathryn Lasky
I think he's a pretty cool villain. Personally I think it'd have been more logical if the true villains in this book had been the Packs with their oppressive ableist and eugenicist system, but I guess Heep will have to do. I always headcanoned Heep often feels misunderstood by people because he can't express truly himself like average (tailed) wolves can, since a tail is a huge part of canine body language. The books never really play into this which I think is a missed opportunity.

Wolves of the beyond AU idea
What if Heep never killed the Malach, would he be different, or would he still be evil? Would he and Faolan work through their differences? Heck, they might even become friends that would overthrow the wolf system together... what do you think?
Personally, I think it'd be cool for both to represt destiny: one being set in stone (Faolan) and the other being a tale of making your own destiny (Heep).

The love of my life
I had this old Heep sketch laying around and decided to use it to experiment with colors, shading, and blood effects Missed opportunity to being vyrrwolves back with making Heep one smh
Wolves of the Beyond Designs #23- Heep
Meanie man. I intentionally made him look like he didn on the cover for Shadow Wolf; that's always been how heep looks in my mind.
Doing two more of these! Angery Boi and WitchWolf.
Heep is hard for me to get right because I almost always see people draw him as “too yellow” in my opinion. I tried to give him a more sandy coat, like a blonde labrador, here. He did end up kinda looking like Hige, though, whoops. His crooked hips were hard to get right.
The Sark is fun to design because I love doing messed up old wolves. Her coat’s mostly dull, but then she has that What The Fuck-face with an owl’s eye that just Mad-eye Moody’s all over the place.
