Headcanons - Dating Heidi

Author’s note: I have based these Headcanons on my Heidi with a Event Planner mate moodboard - link.  Hope you enjoy!

You meet Heidi when you organised a celebration for Caius and Athenodora anniversary

Aro wanted to throw an extravagant party for his brother and his wife and enlisted Gianna’s help

Wanting to ensure that everything was perfect Gianna searched for Event Planners and came across your website and was impressed by the reviews and the range of events you plan for

Heidi caught your scent on her way to Gianna’s desk as she had offered to help Gianna with the planning. (Aro wants to ensure that their secret is kept from you)

Heidi smiled knowingly at you but quickly composed herself enough to introduce herself to you with a warm smile

You smile back at her and introduce yourself, silently thinking how beautiful she looks

Heidi is impressed by your organisation skills and your attention to detail during the planning sessions

Later that night she looked up you and your website online and was further impressed by your portfolio of work and the reviews left by previous clients and smiled as she realised why you were her fated mate

Demetri noticed Heidi spending more time with Gianna than normal and his curiosity got the better of him and after speaking with the secretary worked out that his friend had finally met her other half in the Event Planner

 Heidi ensured she was available to attend any meetings you had with Gianna throughout the planning stages, so much so Aro became suspicious of her interest in you

You and your assistant arrived at the castle and oversaw the decoration of the ballroom, making sure everything was perfect for the big event itself

Heidi made sure that you were safe as there were many humans coming and going from the castle as they were delivering the decorations, flowers, chair covers and satin ties along with food and wine for the evening

You stayed for the event to ensure it went smoothly and to be on hand should there be any queries or problems

After Heidi finally got up the courage to ask you to dance, you spent the rest of the night talking and laughing together

Marcus saw the strong mate ties between the two of you and discreetly slipped his hand into Aro’s. Aro smiled wide knowing Heidi had finally found her mate and was looking forward to welcoming you into the family knowing your event planning skills would be a great addition to the castle as the residents did enjoy throwing parties etc

Caius and Athenodora were surprised by the party being thrown for them and was very impressed when they discovered that the successful event was organised by you (a human) Gianna may have received a pay rise as she was the one to find you online

Heidi was forever grateful to Gianna for she would never have met you if it wasn’t for her

Heidi planned your first date wanting you to relax and enjoy the evening rather than worrying about the details

Heidi took you an Italian restaurant that Demetri and his mate recommended (they went there many times before she was turned)

Heidi bought you a Y/F/C bouquet of mixed flowers, ensuring to remove the thorns from the roses

You blushed when she handed you the flowers as she complimented your appearance, loving you in your date outfit “You look so beautiful Y/N” “Thank you. You look beautiful too” You compliment her on her outfit too

The Kings and Queens approve of you and are looking forward to having you plan many more events in the future

Knowing you are not a threat to them or their secret you are able to continue to work outside of the castle as you didn’t want to give up your business

Heidi does everything she can to ensure you’re happy with her and encourages you to move in with her.

You sharing Heidi’s room and being shocked at the size of your new shared walk-in closet “I’d never fill this space” “Yes you will my love and we have an eternity to do so” Heidi replied holding you from behind

You enjoy adding ‘your’ touch to Heidi’s quarters now you would be sharing them with her

You becoming a little jealous when you realise she uses her ‘gift’ to entice the ‘tourists’ into the castle for dinner twice a month

Heidi reassures you that she loves you and only you, explaining to you how her ‘gift’ actually works

Heidi loves curling up with you at the end of the day for a cuddle whilst you watch movies together or whilst you read to each other

Shared baths and showers are a great way to share intimate moments and lavish each other with lots of TLC as you both enjoy feeling the other’s hands on your body

Girl’s days out – Heidi and you have regular shopping trips with Corin, Chelsea and Renata

PDA – Heidi and you hold hands, fingers intertwined as you walk around the castle and when you leave the castle for dates and days out. Kisses to each other cheeks and temples when around the other vampires in the castle, showing them that you two are mates

Intimacy – slow, sensuous kisses during intimate moments as you both like to take your time with each other.

Rough and needy kisses are rare between you as it is not often that you are apart from each other for long periods of time

The Kings give you time to acclimatise to the castle, the other vampire residents and the fact that you will become immortal

Heidi turns you when the time is right although she was worried in case she was tempted by the smell of your blood whilst turning you

Your self-control around Gianna is impressive for a newborn which the Kings appreciate as hiring her replacement will be inconvenient during your first year. (The Kings never forgot the number of secretaries they had to hire during Afton’s newborn year)

Everyone notices your calm demeanour around humans during your newborn phase although your demeanour changes when you are around the lower and transitory guards as they tend to bring out your ‘newborn’ tendencies

Felix and Demetri training you separately from the other guards as you were rather aggressive to the lower and transitory guards during your first few training sessions

Demetri also taught you how to bring down Felix as you were getting frustrated at never winning a ‘friendly’ sparring match against the giant vampire

During your newborn year your assistant took on more responsibilities and oversaw the events that you planned, staying in touch virtually. You also took on another assistant to help your original assistant with her new role as you didn’t want to lose your business just because you became immortal

Once you are passed your newborn phase you are allowed to continue running your business as you had proven you had good self-control around humans. Your assistant took on a more involved role during your newborn year and as this worked well, she continued to oversee events especially on sunnier days, your other assistant helping out too

You became famous among the vampire world over the years as ‘The World’s Best Event Planner’ as you always planned the Volturi’s parties and balls etc

Your new ‘title’ was something Heidi was very proud of. However, if vampires could blush you would be blushing regularly

You eventually started planning events for other vampire covens and charging them accordingly, loving how your small business had grown over the centuries.

Heidi enjoyed helping you plan the events too

Caius would brag about your planning skills ensuring the Volturi’s subjects knew you were better than a certain Cullen. This amused his brothers greatly

Heidi was not just your mate and lover; she was your best friend and your entire world and you looked forward to spending the rest of forever together

For Heidi, she’s such a sweetheart! She’s a good friend too. She likes spoiling you with gifts sometimes if she can afford it and invites you to a lot of sleepovers. Even when she turned into Cartman 2.0 she was nice to you and showed her soft spot towards you (even though it was a rough patch for you guys).

Shelly is a big old softie around you, she totally gossips to you about any drama and man does Stan love you because you always put her in a good mood and she doesn’t even beat up Stan when you’re around. Anytime she’s not home it’s likely because she’s spending time with you. She’s protective of you, not liking a lot of your romantic partners or not trusting them right away.

Nichole has a lot of friends but she always tries to prioritize you and will always be there for you! Unfortunately she really wants to go on a double date with you and really worries about you and your romantic life so she tries to get you a partner a lot. She tries to spend as much time with you as she can, through school projects and through many other means. She will always defend you too.

Wendy is your number 1 supporter and defender, going through above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable and safe, as well as feeling as though she is somebody to rely on. She will not stand for cartmans shit or anyone else’s if it means you’re in jeopardy somehow. She likes teaming up with you on school projects especially if you’re not good at the subject, she always looks out for you.

Wendy:

Wendy is a confident girl and loves how confident you are.

Short hair? She totally digs it, and you might even give her the confidence to also cut her hair.

With her its super easy to experiment, as she also loves trying on your suits.

Wendy is super interested in everything you do and when you tell her about roller-skating, she is on board.

She is also pretty good at it which makes everyone jealous.

If you ask her for any of her close, she will just give you free access to her wardrobe but also demand the same for yours.

To any formal occasion, she will accompany you in a suit of her own, in signature dark purple.

Bebe:

Bebe is super supportive, but she won’t adapt your style like Wendy does.

She totally likes your suits though and honestly, you two are a super aesthetic couple.

Prom photos? You steal the spotlight with ease. Her rocking a beautiful gown with her hair done pretty and you in your classy suit with beautiful, styled hair? Iconic.

Roller-skating with her is like a time trip. She will wear one of those fifties’ dresses and old school skates.

You two make everyone’s head turn and easily are the most stylish couple in the whole school.

Borrowing clothes? She will give you a distinct shelve in her wardrobe with clothes that you can take.

Heidi:

Supportive as hell.

If anyone dares to comment about you, she will set them straight.

Heidi might cut her hair too, depending on if you encourage her to do so.

She will certainly talk about your style a lot and is super curious about it.

Heidi might ask to try some of your suits on just so she can see if she likes it.

She might like some but won’t really adapt your style, as she loves her own style too much.

You probably need to teacher her roller-skating, but she will totally love it.

Heide will gladly let you take from her closet whatever you desire.

Nicole:

Nicole will adapt a bit of your style. Vests with a simple blouse underneath are certainly something she will try and enjoy.

She loves playing with your hair and digs your style.

Nicole has a rich wardrobe and anything that could look beautiful on you she will show you. If you want to borrow them then, she will happily give it to you.

“You can keep that; I didn’t like it that much anyway.”

She is excited to go skating with you but you two quickly discover that she isn’t as good as you.

You two are happy to keep training thought and soon enough, you glide across the rink.

Red:

Red is a little more tomboyish, so she loves and adores your style.

She is super excited and asks you to please let her try some of your clothes.

You ask for hers in return and so you exchange your clothes ever so often and the other girls find that super cute.

She loves your hair and touches it a lot. “It’s so soft babe.”

What Red isn’t a big fan of? Roller skating.

Its just not her thing and she struggles to remain on her feet, so she rather just sits on a table, watch you and drink some tea.

Henrietta:

Her first thought was „What the fuck are they wearing?“

She thought it was odd at first, but she has grown to like it, since you’re nonconform to the other girls.

If you ask her for her close, she has to suppress a tried smile and a snarky comment.

“Now you look super goth my queen of darkness.”

She likes your short hair but asks you if you ever thought about a little color change, something like her friend Pete for example.

Roller skating?

Not with her. “Sorry Y/N, but I don’t do such poser things.”

She will let you do your thing and just sit close with her notebook writing dark poems.

Sophie:

Sophie is a big supporter, but your style isn’t her cup of tea. So, she will just encourage you to do you and let you do your thing.

She likes a little longer hair, only because she would love to braid it like her own, but she can also make great hairstyles for your hair, and she loves the challenge.

Big fan of roller-skating and happily goes to the rink with you.

She still has many admires, so you two will make lots of heads turn.

She loves seeing you in her clothes and comments how amazing you look in every style imaginable.

Lizzy:

If anyone dares to make a mean comment about you, they better prepare for lots of insults from Lizzy.

She is your biggest supporter and openly gushes about how much she loves you and your confidence.

Roller-skating isn’t her things. She will try really hard since you like it, but she just can’t keep up with an expert like you.

Like Wendy she will offer her whole wardrobe to you, but only if she can borrow your things too.

Tammy:

Like Kenny she is rather poor, so she can’t afford fancy clothes like yours but should you lend her any, she will take super good care of it.

She likes your style, but also encourages you to try some of her clothes, since she thinks you would rock anything.

Your hair? She likes it. She is fine with however you wear it but would like to get matching highlights.

You teach her roller-skating, she never tried it before.

She gets the hang rather quickly and really likes skating with you.

It becomes a nice hobby for you two and she loves discovering new things with you by her side.

as if Caius couldn't get any more grumpy around the castle

he turns into an even bigger ass and gets set off by  a n y t h i n g

he's also blowing up Carlisle's phone and cussing him out for answering on the third ring

you try to calm him down gently, but it's not getting through his big ancient skull

"Babe, it's the flu. Not the plague. Stop threatening Carlisle and help me to the bathroom so I can throw up."

Aro

he tries his best

he keeps physical contact with you, responding to every desire you have in your thoughts

if you want a back rub, it's happening

unfortunately, this backfires when you think you're hungry for thirty seconds and he returns to the room with a pizza

Imagine Being The Volturi’s Secretary

Part 1

Signing up for a shady secretary job is one thing but said shady job actually being offered by vampires is another thing.

You’re not a skeptic and you’ve never exactly valued your own life very much so you took the job.

You quickly find out that the Volturi value your life about as much you do.

“Your job here is to organize the schedule, pass messages onto the masters, welcome us as we come in, say farewell as we leave, do anything we ask, and collect the mail. You are not to open any mail you must pass it onto the masters. You are not to interrupt when the doors are closed, and you are not to divulge the secret. You can continue living your life in town but you’ll find you won’t have time to return to your social life. You will call members of the guard sir or ma'am and the three kings master,” the tall beefy guard explains as he leads me through the old castle. His name is Demetri and he seems annoyed at being given the task to play tour guide.

“Yes sir,” you reply. He grunts and leads you to a nice mahogany desk.

“This is your desk,” he says and gestures for you to sit. You nod and sit down at the desk. There’s a set of pens and pencils on the desk in a straight line and a mac computer. You fold your hands and look up politely at your red eyed boss. “You are to be here at seven sharp every morning and you leave at three unless instructed otherwise. You may have days off if you request them a week in advance. Any questions?”

“None sir,” you answer politely and smile. Demetri rolls his eyes and stalks away. Once the blonde vampire no longer watches you scribble down all the rules he said and place them in the top desk drawer.

You may not value your life but you value work ethic.

So begins your first day as the Volturi secretary.

You quickly learn names and abilities of all the guard except who don’t seem that bad at all. Of course they’re all horribly frightening and don’t care for you at all but they aren’t rude.

You’re good at your job and you assure to follow all the rules laid out. Even though your job is easy you never slack off in your free time. To keep busy you start hand making a calendar for the Volturi. Each month has a guard member or two sketched out on it while the three kings stand as the cover.

Your main task is organizing fake tours for Heidi to lead so the Volturi can eat without suspicion being raised. Though the screams haunt your dreams you manage to stop flinching every time a tour comes through.

Other jobs include scheduling trials for vampires who’ve broken laws, planning parties, handing on letters, sending gifts to friends of the Volturi, and anything else that is asked of you. Once you had to learn how to fishtail braid so you could braid Jane’s hair.

Overall you’re not happy, you ever are, but you don’t hate your job. The pay is nice and it keeps you busy.

“(Y/N)!” Jane snaps and you instantly bounce to attention. The blonde vampire is storming up to your desk with a murderous look on her face.

“Yes ma'am?”

“A trial is scheduled for the day of my and Alec’s birthday!” she hisses. “We were supposed to have a ball.” Jane is furious and looks ready to kill.

“I’m sorr-”

“I know it wasn’t you! You keep track of the birthdays ritualistically.” It’s true you have all the birthdays written down and you always plan something if the particular vampire cares about their birthday. “I want to know who told you to put a trial over it!”

Jane is glaring viciously and her hands are clenched.

“Mr Demetri requested it,” you answer calmly.

“I’m going to rip his head off,” she growls. “Thanks.” You’re stunned, none f then has ever shifted blame from you to another member of the guard, and no one has ever said thanks.

“Your welcome but ma'am, is the fault not mine?” you ask curiously.

“It’s not because I know you were ordered explicitly to follow all orders. I also know Demetri is mad because I stole his favorite cloak,” Jane replies curtly and then storms off.

You wonder silently if they’ve started to like you.

“Dear (Y/N) I wonder if you could help me choose a table cloth for Jane and Alec’s party?” Aro inquires with a sickly sweetness. He called you into the throne room for this express reason apparently.

“Yes I can master,” you say and walk forward. Your heels click on the granite floor loudly, too loudly.

“Never wear heels again (Y/N) they are intolerable,” Caius demands.

“Ah but sweet (Y/N) looks so delicious in heels,” Aro muses. “Felix, and Heidi certainly think so.” The referred vamps immediately hiss and scowl. You feel your face heat up in betrayal to your mind.

“How can they stand the sound?” Caius mutters but everyone disregards him.

“Oh hush brother. Now (Y/N) tell me which table cloth is best?”

You choose the red one which pleases Jane and Alec.

On your way out you purposefully take light steps to cushion the sound.

“Aro this girl has been here for months when will we kill her?”

“Caius we also discussed turning her.”

“We always say we’ll turn them but we never do.”

“This one is different.”

“(Y/N) will you come to our party?” Alec asks suddenly appearing behind you. You squeak in surprise and whip around to find Jane and him looking at you expectantly.

“If you request I come then I shall sir. Unless I’m indisposed,” you reply nicely.

“What do you mean? What could possibly make you unavailable. You have nothing to do outside this job,” Jane remarks bluntly.

“Ma'am the only way I would miss your party is if I was dead. In my line of work I understand that my death could occur at any moment.”

Jane and Alec both stare in shock and then a certain emotion you couldn’t figure out.

Before you know it Jane grabs your arm in a bruising grip and roughly pulls you to the throne room.

So it’s finally happening, your death.

It was a couple days since you had your first kiss with Heidi. In that time, the lavender had been successfully planted into the garden and someone had left a large black umbrella on your desk chair. Oh, and Heidi was spending every evening by your side. That too.

The first night, you had been quite nervous. Heidi had appeared by your desk as the clock struck 5PM. Back in your rooms, she would sit on the counter while you prepared your dinner. She asked you about your family, your childhood, the music and books you liked. She asked you what you had wanted to be when you grew up.

"I never had dreams," you told her with a laugh. You had always thought you'd work for the family business.

When you were finished eating, you would sit on the couch. She would pull your feet into her lap and rub them as the interrogation continued. You were a bit nervous to ask her questions, but she told you what she remembered of her human life, and about joining the Volturi.

Whenever you rested your head against the couch and your eyes began to droop, she would scoop you up and place you in bed. Once you got up to brush your teeth and change, but after that you were much too tired by the time she deposited you among the blankets. She would stay until you fell asleep, often smoothing out your hair or rubbing your back.

It was amazing, even if you were a little nervous around her. You'd never had a real relationship before, let alone with a vampire who could kill you with a flick of the wrist.

This fact still nagged you in the back of your mind. It wasn't helped by the fact that the other guards had started acting weird around you. Demetri and Afton started commenting on how nice you looked, and asking if Heidi had visited you yet that day. Chelsea and Aro started asking you how your day went all the time. Jane just rolled her eyes.

Your suspicions that something wasn't quite right came to a breaking point when you opened the email Tuesday morning to find three message regarding a recent job posting. You opened each email, you chest tightening as the three candidates referenced an ad placed the week before. It was the same kind of language as the ad you had seen when you had applied-- no experience needed, live-in secretary, negotiable wage, provided apartment with furnishings.

"Good morning, Y/N."

You jumped out of your chair when you heard Demetri's voice.

"Good morning, Demetri." you said quickly. With your right hand you clicked to exit out of the email. "H-how may I help you?"

Demetri raised a brow and paused on his walk past your desk. "I didn't need anything, just saying hello."

"Right," you said, clasping your hands behind your back.

"Is everything alright, Y/N? You seem rather anxious this morning."

"Just didn't sleep that well, that's all." you lied.

"Well it couldn't have been Heidi's fault," he joked. "We saw her in the training room by midnight, so you two couldn't have gotten up to too much trouble."

"We never get up to anything," you said quickly.

Demetri laughed. "Oh, I know. We all know. Poor Heidi," he said. "Anyway, see you later."

He turned and disappeared down the corridor, but you remained standing for a few more minutes, your mind frozen and racing at the same time. Slowly you sat down, forcing yourself to go on with your day's tasks. You shakily sorted the mail, paid the bills, ordered building materials for work to be done in the castle. On your lunch break you pulled out the employee handbook and flipped through it, looking for where it might mention 'fireable' offences. You hadn't tried to run away or contact anyone on the outside, nor had you been rude to guests, try to warn 'tourists', or shirked your regular duties.

Demetri's words bounced around in your skull... Poor Heidi... what had you done, besides not 'putting out'? She hadn't even brought up having sex, not even came close since the time she'd drawn you a bath. Did your little 'relationship' annoy the masters? Had Heidi grown tired of you? Had you proved an uninteresting toy, and now you had to be disposed of before you could run off or act out?

You didn't notice the time, and the hand on your shoulder meant to pull you from your thoughts caused you to scream. In an instant, your desk was surrounded by Alec, Renata, Felix and Afton.

"It's okay," Heidi said from behind you. "I just frightened Y/N. They're fine."

Alec, Renata, and Afton disappeared as quickly as they'd come, but Felix took a second longer to glance at you before he disappeared.

"I didn't mean to scare you," Heidi murmured, her fingers pushing back your hair. You could feel your heart beating fast in your chest, and her hand slid down to rest on top of it. "What were you thinking of when I came? You seem quite shaken up."

"N-nothing," you lied. You moved your chair back a foot and stood up, tidying your desk as she loomed behind you.

"Something's wrong," she said. Her voice was gentle, the voice she used with elderly tour groups. Her fingertips reached out and trailed down your back as you filed the last of your paperwork for the day.  "Tell me what's wrong, Y/N. I can make it better."

"Nothing's wrong," you insisted, glancing at her quickly. In her stilettos and form-fitting dress, she was an image of intimidation. And you were, well... a frumpy human secretary. You pulled your eyes away, fumbling with the last paid bill. The tears that were gathering in your eyes made it difficult to read the names of the files.

"Y/N, please," she murmured.

"I'm just tired," you lied. Your chest felt tight, and you licked your dry lips and swallowed hard, worried she'd demand another answer from you.

"Let's get you to bed, then," she said, a hand moving firmly to your lower back.

"I-I...I think I need to be alone, for a while."

You're afraid to look her in the eye, but it's more frightening to wonder at her expression. Your heart skips a beat as you take in her impartial expression, her mouth a perfect line, her eyes hard.

"Alright." she said. She took a step back from you, turning and walking away quickly. You listened to the sound of her heels fade into nothing.

You were shaking. What had you done?

Ever since the day Heidi had brought you into her rooms, you were certain she was avoiding you. Well, as much as she could. She still had to bring the humans down your hall for feeding times, but that was only once a week. She never looked over at you as she led them down the hall. You took the chance once or twice to savour the smoothness of her voice, they way it made you want to curl up in a patch of sun and fall asleep in cold arms...

You shook your head like you wanted to shake out your thoughts. You had business to attend to.

You were getting pretty good at your job. You knew most of the processes for running the castle, how to pay the bills, the best time to bring letters to the masters. You were in the middle of an e-mail order for new stones for the garden when footstep interrupted you. You stood up before you even looked up, plastering a smile on your face.

"Welcome home, Demetri, Jane," your breath caught. "Heidi..."

"Good to be home, Y/N," Demetri said with a wink, stopping to cross his arms and lean on the top counter of your desk. Jane walked on, seemingly lost in a foul mood. Behind Demetri, you could see Heidi pause, and the two of you made eye contact for the first time in weeks.

You looked away, feeling your face begin to heat up, and turned to Demetri.

"Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Yes, indeed there is," Demetri said. "Someone, not naming names," Demetri began. He coughed and said something, but it was too fast for you to hear. "stomped on Mistress Sulpicia's lavender. The stems are all bent and the flowers are crushed. Could you be a doll and go pick up a few plants whenever you make your grocery run?"

"Of course," you said, taking out a note pad and jotting down the information. "I can go this afternoon, but I'm not sure I'll be able to find lavender at this time of year. I might have to order some in."

"Well, see what you can do," Demetri said, patting the top of the desk twice before walking away.

You pulled the sticky note off the pad, acutely aware that Heidi hadn't left with Demetri. You took another few seconds to compose yourself before you looked up again.

"Anything I can help you with, H-Heidi?"

Darn, almost. You stuck the note to the corner of your computer screen with a shaky hand.

"It's going to rain this evening." she said. simply. She didn't approach the desk, but her eyes were locked on you in a way humans couldn't.

"Oh, well, um, thank you. I'll have to find an umbrella,," you said. You clasped your hands in front of you. You weren't allowed to sit down until they leaved or they dismissed you.

You bowed your head a little. Surely, Heidi could hear your heart beating in your chest. Was she still upset with you? Was this her revenge for not looking at her all those weeks ago? Did Master Aro tell her you'd been dreaming about that moment? Did he tell her in those dreams you turned to peek?

"Have a good afternoon, Y/N," Heidi said. You heard the click of her heels on the stone, and waited until the sound was distant.

"You too," you said with a sigh, before covering your mouth with your hand. She probably heard that.

Three o’clock rolled around quickly, and you made your way to your room. You rummaged through your belongings, groaning when you realized you never packed your raincoat. You threw on a sweater instead, sliding on sandals and telling yourself you'd just be super quick.

Yeah, right.

Sure, you had time to pick up a couple groceries for yourself. It was only misting when you found your way to the flower shops. By the time you convinced them to get you some lavender plants from the back, it was full-on pouring rain outside. You were relieved to find three medium-sized plants, but that was all you could fit in your cart. You placed your groceries at the bottom, the plastic green pots on top, and peeled your sweater off and tied it around the top of your grandma cart so that the flowers would be safe. Stepping out into the street, your whole body shivered with the onset of rain. In less than two minutes, you were soaked to the bone.

It took you another twenty minutes to walk back to the 'human' entrance of the castle. Alec was kind enough to hold the door open for you as you pulled the cart up the stairs.

"Th-th-th-th-thanks," you said, your teeth chattering until you clenched your jaw.

"No worries," Alec said, taking in the sight of you. He said nothing else as you walked by, tracking water wherever you walked. You would need to mop all of that up once you delivered the flowers.

Your sandals made a wet smacking noise as you walked. You didn't know where Demetri would be, so you decided to go to the general hang-out area. You stopped the cart, pulled the plants into your arms, and slowly made your way deeper and deeper underground, until you reached the underground training room.

Everyone had heard you coming from a mile away, so chatter had died down and about twenty vampires glanced back at you.

"Oh, look at you! You found them!"

Demetri released Afton from a hold and zoomed over to you to take the flowers from you. Behind him, Master Aro and Master Caius shared a glance.

"You look awful, Y/N," Demetri said. "You should go warm up."

"Yeah... you're right." you said quickly. You were shivering, and the tips of your fingers were numb.

Going down all of those stairs is one thing, but climbing back up is a whole other story. The stairs were so old that there was no railing, and they just turned and turned upwards. You felt a little lightheaded, and then two hands moved to your hips to steady you before you fell forwards.

"Th-thanks," you said. You couldn't stop your teeth from chattering.

"I distinctly remember telling you that it was going to rain," the voice from behind said. Oh god.

"S-s-sorry," was your lame response. You heard Heidi sigh, and the cool exhale of her breath on your neck made you shiver.

"Hold still. It'll be easier if I carry you."

You froze in place. Heidi was going to carry you? Your subconscious was going to have a field day with that. Heidi dreams for the rest of the month, for sure!

Heidi scooped you up bridal style, and your exhausted body slumped in her cold, hard arms. You closed your eyes, not only tired but also embarrassed. You felt colder, like she was holding you outside of a moving car, and then it stopped.

"You can open your eyes now."

You peeked. You were in your room.

Heidi set you down, grabbing you again to steady you a second later.

"Thanks Heidi," you said, kicking off your sandals.

"Just answer me this: why did you go out into the rain without so much as a raincoat?"

"Well, I needed food. And those flowers."

"And no raincoat? No umbrella?"

"I thought I was going to be faster than the rain," you said, finding a towel to dry off your legs and arms. Water was still dripping from your hair, shirt and pants, and when you looked over at Heidi, her shirt and arms were soaked where she had held you. And she had her hands on her hips.

"No offense, cara mia, but you're not that fast."

You were so tired that you couldn't help but laugh. Heidi laughed too, but you were laughing so hard you had to sit down. When you could finally breathe again, you sighed happily to yourself and said "Oh, I'm so dumb!"

To your surprise, Heidi crouched down in front of you. One of her hands reached out to cradle your face, and then she drew you a little closer.

You could feel your heart gearing up in your chest, and in your exhausted state you lacked the impulse control. Your hand reached up to Heidi's face and you kissed her on the lips.

Aaaaaand then your brain caught up with you. You pulled away, dizzy and a little star struck.

"Oh Heidi, I'm sorry, I should've asked--"

Heidi leaned forward and kissed you. Her fingers went through your hair, resting on the back of your head, pulling you towards her. Your hands moved to her arms to stop yourself from falling away from her. After a long minute she let you come up for air.

"Let me run you a bath." she purred, practically on your lap. You were sure your pupils were fully dilated-- god, if Heidi wanted to get into your pants, she didn't need to try this hard!

Heidi helped you to your feet and brought you over to your own bathroom. You sat on the counter, still in shock, as she ran the water and adjusted the temperature. She looked through your toiletries until she found a bottle of bubble bath, and carefully poured in a capful.

"There," she said, turning back to you and wiping her wet hands on her pants.

You swallowed as she walked back to you. Were you? Was she? Your circuits were fried and you just looked on at her helplessly, awaiting direction.

Heidi was on cloud nine as she fixed your bath. Aro had promised that once you were securely hers, she could change you. That had been a full month ago, and she hadn't been able to bring herself to be near you. She had been afraid you would reject her, since you hadn't jumped her bones the first time you met her. But Demetri had dragged her by your desk today, and she would need to thank him. The chance to hold you was almost too much to bear, and then to hear you laugh, and to kiss you! Oh!Heidi already decided she was going to take one of your sweaters on the way out, so she could have your scent in her room.

She turned back to you with a smile, her dead heart nearly bursting with satisfaction. You. on the other hand, looked like a limp noodle stuck on a wall.

Heidi moved over to help you out of your clothes, and then stopped in front of you. You were frozen stiff, face burning up. Embarrassment. Nervousness. Obviously you weren't used to any of this. Heidi was only a little disappointed. The inner part of her, the animalistic part, burned with pride that you were hers and hers only.

"I'll leave you to have your bath," Heidi said, kissing your forehead. "Make sure you wear something warm to bed, and get lots of sleep, hm?"

You nodded, still a little overwhelmed but relieved that you weren't going to undress in front of Heidi after all the events of the day.

"I will see you tomorrow, cara mia," Heidi murmured, her hand trailing down your arm to your hand. She couldn't resist, leaning in for a last, quick kiss.

"Tomorrow," you said.

Heidi swept out of the room, shutting the door behind her. You held your breath for another minute, and then sighed and pulled the wet clothes off yourself before sinking into the warm water.

Sweater in hand, Heidi practically floated back to her room. She pressed the sweater to her face and breathed in, venom pooling in her mouth. She couldn't rush you-- waiting made it all the sweeter. She carefully re-folded the sweater and sat it among the pillows, hoping your scent would leech onto them as well.

She was supposed to meet Renata down in the underground training room for a sparring re-match, but when she got there, Renata was busy fighting a quick-footed Jane.

"Someone looks happy," Demetri said. Aro and Marcus lowered the book they were sharing, and Aro beckoned Heidi over.

"So? Has Caius won the bet? A month and a half?" Aro asked. Demetri waltzed over, a grin across his face.

Heidi rolled her eyes. "No one has won yet."

She heard multiple groans, her covenmates readjusting their bets.

"Why are you smiling so much?" Demetri asked as Aro took Heidi's hand. Aro laughed and released her hand after a moment.

"Hey, c'mon, you owe me," Demetri said. Heidi shook her head and smiled like the Mona Lisa. It was no one else’s business that Y/N kisses like a virgin.
