May I make a Volturi request if asks are still open? If not sorry to bother 😅
Would you mind writing for the Felix reaction to his mate being a (female) wolf shapeshifter (like the from forks).
Also if you feel like it Marcus’s reaction too? (or Caius’s to mess with his racist arse 🤣 yes I know he was attacked by a werewolf and has trauma but that doesn’t mean go on a genocide hoping to drive an entire mythological species to extinction)
THE VOLTURI'S REACTION TO THEIR SHAPESHIFTER MATE
a/n: of course! i hope you don't mind but i decided to just do it with the rest of the volturis too!
masterlists & requests: before you go, have a glass of wine or better yet, recommend a good bottle. any kind of message is always a delight.
DEMETRI VOLTURI — THE CASANOVA
Demetri was absolutely thrown off when he found his soulmate on the battlefield. Confused, stunned, a little in awe, and then, of course, the biggest complication hit him: he was a vampire, and you were a shapeshifter. A forbidden pairing from the start. Add the Volturi into the mix, who openly despise shapeshifters and consider themselves superior to everyone, and it becomes even more impossible.
Demetri might be a high-ranking guard, but even high-ranking guards have limits. He’s spent centuries obeying the masters, following orders without question. So the moment he felt that bond with you, something inside him cracked a little. Throughout the entire battle, his eyes kept drifting to you. He was continuously watching, searching, unable to look away until the Volturi finally turned and left.
After the battle, he used whatever free time he had to see you. But he didn’t want to risk causing trouble in Forks or La Push, didn’t want to provoke the pack or attract attention. So he’d give you a subtle sign—just enough for you to notice—and lead you to meet him in Seattle or Port Angeles instead, far away from anyone who might interfere.
At first, you probably wanted to reject him. He was a Volturi. A vampire. A walking symbol of everything your people were taught to fight against. Even the idea of having a Cullen soulmate would’ve been enough to make you hesitate, but Demetri? That felt like a line you weren’t meant to cross. But then he shattered every expectation you had.
Sure, his reputation preceded him. Volturi’s “casanova,” the smooth talker, the flirt. But with you? He was a gentleman. Steady. Soft in all the ways you didn’t expect. He treated you right from the beginning, never pushing, never demanding, just quietly adoring you.
And slowly, that won you over.
The bond wasn’t easy. It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t even a normal soulmate connection by any stretch. But he tried—truly tried—to make it work. And you met him halfway. It might not be the ideal arrangement for either of you, but it was something both of you were willing to fight for, simply because it was each other.

FELIX VOLTURI — THE EXECUTIONER
Felix was just as confused as Demetri, maybe even more so, but during the battle, he was under strict orders from the masters. He couldn’t break formation, couldn’t approach you, and honestly, he didn’t want to. Not yet. His loyalty had always belonged to the Volturi, and that didn’t magically change the second he realized you were his soulmate. But the curiosity was there, burning quietly in the back of his mind.
After the battle, it turned into a real internal dilemma.
One part of him wanted to find you immediately. The other part knew that once he started, he wouldn’t be able to stop. And that scared him—not because he feared you, but because he feared what it would mean for both your lives.
Eventually, he crossed paths with you again. This time, far from Forks, while you were on vacation. He didn’t approach dramatically or declare anything. Instead, he watched from the edges, observing you carefully. He didn’t want to disturb your peace. He even disguised himself a little, blending in with humans so he could get close without drawing suspicion.
To you, he was probably just a “summer fling,” some mysterious stranger you met on a trip. And that’s exactly how he wanted it. Felix didn’t dare turn it into something more. Not if it meant risking you seeing him for what he really was. A monster. A killer. A soldier of the Volturi.
He could handle being feared or hated by the world. He’d lived centuries with that. But the thought of you looking at him that way?
That was unbearable.
So he kept his distance. Protected you from the truth. Protected you from him.
He didn’t want to burden your life, or drag you into the darkness he lived in every day. Even if it meant denying the bond, even if it meant watching you walk away without ever knowing what you truly were to him.

HEIDI VOLTURI — THE SEDUCTRESS
Heidi was in the middle of her usual duty, scouting for tourists for the Volturi’s feedings, when she suddenly stopped in her tracks the moment she saw you. She knew instantly you weren’t human, but the familiar pull, that strange knowing, hit her so hard she couldn’t ignore it. Curiosity flared in her immediately. Out of everyone in the Volturi, she took discovering a shapeshifter soulmate surprisingly well. She didn’t care about the rivalry, the history, or the politics. To her, you were already hers the moment she recognized the bond, and she was already yours.
She made every effort to get to know you whenever she finished her duties. But she hid a lot about herself. Not because she wanted to lie, but because she couldn’t risk you finding out what she truly did every day. It was already hard enough that you didn’t trust her just for being a vampire. If you knew she was part of the Volturi, you’d probably try to kill her on the spot.
So she kept her distance from the truth. She took on a new identity, masked her role, softened her presence. She was content for now just being near you, learning you, understanding the person behind the shapeshifter form. Even if it meant pretending to be someone else. Even if it meant hiding the darkest parts of her life just to keep you close a little longer.

ARO VOLTURI — THE MANIPULATIVE KING
Aro has two moods, and your fate depends entirely on which one he’s in when he discovers the bond. If he’s in a terrible mood, he becomes reckless and impulsive, and his reaction to finding his soulmate—a shapeshifter, no less—intensifies tenfold. But regardless of his emotional state, there is no denying how deeply fascinated he is by the connection. After centuries of waiting, centuries of watching others find what he never had, destiny finally delivers him something extraordinary and impossible: you. A vampire bonded to a shapeshifter isn’t just rare—it borders on myth. And to Aro, that only makes the bond more valuable, more sacred, more his.
However, Aro does not take rejection well. In fact, he doesn’t take it at all. When you first push back or hesitate, he’ll pretend to be understanding. He’ll speak gently, offer patience, and assure you he respects your boundaries. But that calm demeanor is a mask—one he wears beautifully. Behind the softness is a mind already planning, already adjusting, already manipulating. Aro believes soulmates are absolute and unchangeable, a once-in-an-eternity connection that fate carved into your souls. For you to reject that? For you to walk away from him after he waited so long? In his mind, it isn’t an option.
So he begins to manipulate you, subtly at first. He twists conversations without you noticing, frames himself as someone you should feel sympathy for, and creates situations where you naturally rely on him. He gently pushes you toward accepting him, making you feel like it was your choice all along. And if you still resist him? If you try to leave despite his efforts?
That’s when Aro stops pretending. He will not let you go. Ever. He isn’t lenient enough to simply step aside and allow fate’s gift to slip through his fingers. If you run, he will find you. If you hide, he will track you down. No matter how fast or how far you go, Aro has Demetri, the greatest tracker in existence. And Demetri will always bring you back to him, no matter where on the planet you try to escape. Aro may love you, but it’s an obsessive, consuming, possessive kind of love—one that doesn’t allow rejection, and certainly doesn’t allow freedom. To him, you are fate’s promise, and he waited far too long to ever let you go.

CAIUS VOLTURI — THE CRUEL KING
Caius has the worst reaction imaginable to discovering a shapeshifter soulmate—worse than Aro’s twisted fascination. Caius is the pillar of hatred toward shapeshifters, the one who has spent centuries fueling war, fear, and extermination. The idea that fate would bind him to the very thing he despises is, to him, the greatest humiliation the universe could inflict. When the bond clicks into place, it’s not awe he feels, it’s pure, unfiltered fury. His rage lashes out at everyone around him, guards and witnesses alike, because he has no idea how to direct it without destroying something.
There are only two paths Caius might take, and neither is kind. In one version, he kills you instantly and silently, unable to bear the shame of being connected to a shapeshifter. He convinces himself that severing the bond is better than acknowledging it, better than letting anyone else know that he, of all vampires, was tied to what he considers an abomination. It's cowardly, but Caius is driven more by anger and pride than reason.
In the second scenario, and far more dangerous, he keeps you alive, but only to be cruel. He uses your bond as a weapon, a twisted example of what he perceives as vampire superiority. He mocks you, belittles your kind, and flaunts his power at every turn. It's his way of trying to reassert dominance, to convince himself the bond isn’t a weakness. He treats you like a challenge he must conquer, a reminder he must control, and a lesson he intends to teach to others.
But what he doesn't expect is you. Unlike the rest of the supernatural world who fear Caius, you don’t cower. Your wrath meets his head-on. Equal, or even greater. You push back, you argue, you challenge him, and you’re not afraid to bare your teeth, figuratively or literally. And suddenly, Caius finds himself facing something he’s never had before: a soulmate who will not bow, who refuses to let him use the bond as a leash or a weapon.
That’s what makes you dangerous to him, and indispensable. As much as he hates it, as much as he rages against it, you become the one thing capable of breaking his centuries-old prejudices. Whether he wants it or not, you’re the foundation of something he never intended: a potential bridge between vampires and shapeshifters. You’re the only one who can match his fire, and the only one who can force him to change, however slowly or violently that process may be.
Caius may be the pillar of hatred, but you become the pillar of transformation. And he has no idea how to handle that.

MARCUS VOLTURI — THE EXHAUSTED KING
He’s shocked—frozen, really—but he keeps it all to himself. Your species doesn’t matter to him. What leaves him wordless is simply having a soulmate at all, something he long ago stopped believing he’d ever experience again. The wound of losing Didyme never closed, and the idea of fate giving him another bond feels too heavy, too unreal. So he says nothing about it. Not because he doesn’t feel it, but because he doesn’t trust himself with something so fragile.
He avoids telling you because he refuses to raise your hopes only to shatter them. He believes he is still too lost in grief, too hollowed out by the memory of his wife to offer anything resembling love or stability. The last thing he wants is for you to become responsible for holding him together when he can barely stand on his own. In his mind, you deserve someone who can meet the bond with clarity, warmth, and certainty. Someone who isn’t drowning in the past.
Still, he can’t help being drawn to you in quiet moments. He wants to know you, wants to understand the person fate tethered him to. But he keeps his distance, not out of coldness, but out of fear of tainting the bond, fear of failing you the way he feels he failed others, fear of discovering he’s capable of loving again when he still can’t fully let go of the woman he lost.
Maybe, someday far in the future, he might be ready to open that part of himself. But he knows it won’t be soon, and he refuses to tie your life to his grieving shadow until he is absolutely certain he can offer you more than a broken half-heart.
