Heir Voting System EXPLAINED!

So, this might be confusing and really it's more for me than for readers just so I make sure I don't forget how I plan it so here we GO...

As we know, there are 5 heirs. Magdalena, Sasi, Elsie, Marisol, Zer in that order. Their rotations descend so that Magdalena's rotation will be finished first.

In the case of Magdalena, let's say she has three children. We'll name them, Bubbles, Buttercup, and Blossom! There three will be presented to you all throughout their lifespan and every time they age up, a poll releases! The winner, throughout X amount of polls goes on to become a potential Heir. So, lets say Buttercup wins (She's the toughest fighter!) but Bubbles (She's the joy and laughter!) finishes 2nd. Bubbles and Blossom then goes on to the Wildcard competition, more on that later.

Okay, so now Buttercup has won but she's just a potential Heir, why?

Well, because she must go on to another battle! So lets say Sasi too has three children. This time, we will name them Yakko, Dot, and Wakko, of course. Let's say this time Wakko wins (He packs away the snacks) and then Dot is 2nd (She's cute), and Yakko (He Yaks) is 3rd.

So then the battle between Wakko and Buttercup begins! However, there is a THIRD to come.

WILDCARD

So, the wildcard has always been a feature of my heir votes and some of my best heirs come from wildcards. Wildcards are not only the heirs who lost a heir vote BUT also, the nephew/nieces of a heir. So, in this case, Carina's children.

So, Buttercup has won! Wakko has won! But guess what? Carina has also had three children. We'll call them...Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

This means that the first Wildcard battle would be...

Blossom

Bubbles

Ed

Edd

Eddy

You all vote on them but the stakes are high for wildcard competitions since half of the competition is removed from the possibly becoming heirs, FOREVER. So, let's say this time Blossom and Eddy wins. Bubbles, Ed, and Edd, are now gone. They are destined to be nothing but spares (in my game at least!). Meanwhile, whoever did get the most votes (Let's say Eddy pulls off an upset!) will go on to the main competition to be Heir #1!

REWIND

So, We are here now. Wakko, Buttercup, and Eddy have one poll to determine who will become the first heir of Gen 2...which remember, would start after Sasi's rotation is done. So, Elsie, Marisol, and Zer would still be running, just hitting their strides. Magdalena would be gone, an old lady (or nearing elder!) and same for Sasi.

So, we'll say Buttercup wins (SHE IS THE TOUGHEST FIGHTER!) she would then become the 4th heir.

What happens Wakko and Eddy? Whoever finishes 2nd in this poll (Wakko since he brings the snacks) then be guaranteed to go up against Sasi's wildcard winner AND Elsie's winner. We won't name them, I can only make so many 90s cartoon references.

ELIMINATION

Theoretically, a heir could continue to almost win and thus always be in a poll...this would obviously be a bit of an issue. Say Wakko continues to finish 2nd but I am now well into the 2nd generation...yeah that's no good. Heirs can be eliminated from voting of course by finishing in the bottom half BUT also just aging out of the competition.

Aging out will be something that is case by case but I'll let you all know that the next vote is such and such last chance. I don't think it'll happen honestly, but I remember when I first did wildcard votes I didn't ever expect a wildcard to win...yet a few did!

VOTING?

Begins once a heir's newborn turns into an Infant. The Infant will get a special little page that will transform as they age up and on it will display their traits, hobbies, etc etc ALONG with what kind of theme/story so.

In this example...Let's say Blossom's theme is she wants to ride horses...then lets say Eddy's theme will be, hmm, wants to hunt vampires...then lets say Wakko's theme is he wants to be a playboy.

So when you vote for a heir, you are voting for the little sim you watch grow in my legacy sure but also, the kind of story you look forward to!

CONCLUSION

This was a lot but again, its really for me more than anything! All you'll have to do is vote on the polls when they pop up and as soon as there are two infants or older the competition begins!

Heir voting has always been such a big part of my legacies so I look forward to running them again!

All hairstyles, makeup, clothes, etc are subject to change when they actually age up. I don't know what their sexualities or gender identity are yet, so keep that in mind.

Yeah, all but one are geeks. 😂 I randomized all of them, and their aspirations. Not sure how that happened. My randomizer seems broken.

Here’s part two of our heir(ess) vote! I love all of our choices for the heir(ess) of our next generation, and I hope you like the approach I’m taking with the next generation! I like to do something different each time, so I thought it would be fun to have an heir(ess) with a storyline entwined with that of a sibling!

Thanks again for another early heir(ess) vote, but this allows me to get the rest of the story sorted for our heir(ess) and spares!

 It must be that creative gene or nurturing parents because you were born with a great talent to play music. Playing the piano & guitar has always been the way you preferred to express yourself & to spend your time. You dream of becoming a famous musician one day and showing everyone that music is your life.

Reed Quick ~

Music has always coursed through Reed’s veins! Growing up, Reed has always found music soothing. As a toddler, she was constantly picked on by her older sister, Jazz, who was jealous of the attention she was getting when she was first welcomed into the family. Music became her safe space. Even if Reed couldn’t understand the words, she could feel the emotions behind the lyrics to any song. Her level of understanding through her empathic alien abilities meant that Reed quickly levelled up all her skills when she was a toddler and through her childhood years. She continues to be an overachiever to this day!

Although Reed uses music as an escape, she also has a small support network in the form of her little brother, Glitch. The two have been best friends since they were toddlers and she wouldn’t know where she would be without her brother! He’s confident and sociable, bringing her out of her shell. Reed knows she needs to branch out and meet other people, but she’s kinda clumsy and fumbles over her words a lot, making her a bit socially awkward. Glitch helps her find a few friends, but she’d rather hang out with sims she trusts - her siblings. 

Wanting some independence and to push herself, Reed has a job as a barista. Learning to deal with tough customers improves her self confidence and makes her stand up for herself, lessons she had needed to learn since she was young. Music was once her escape, but now becomes a hobby she associates with positive things too!

Upon ageing up into a young adult, Reed moves in with her brother, Glitch, wondering how to best approach a career in music. She thinks she should study, but her little brother encourages her to make an impulsive decision with him - joining a talent contest! Will the brother and sister duo launch into stardom with their risky decision?

Glitch Quick ~

Glitch may be the youngest of five siblings, but sims find it hard to see the age difference between him and his relatives! The five Quick siblings, Cara, Jazz, Bell, Reed and Glitch have had their ups and downs, due to varying interests and personalities, but they always have each other’s backs. Glitch is always the first to jump in and support a friend or family member. His bro trait makes him a brother-figure to any sim, sociable, confident and protective.

As the youngest in the family, Glitch hasn’t fallen into the trap like his other siblings of feeling like he needs to achieve as much as they do. He’s a top student and has lots of friends, but doesn’t stress himself out about his work. His mothers, Zeta and Esme, love their children so much, with no expectations for their life choices. As long as Glitch and his siblings are happy, then Glitch’s parents will support them no matter where they go in life!

Always inspired by his big sister and best friend, Reed, Glitch follows her passion for music and desire for independence. Self confidence comes more naturally to him than his sister, so getting a job will be a great way to meet new sims! Glitch gets a job in retail, working in a record shop. Due to his charismatic personality, Glitch draws lots of new customers to the shop! Many of them are his classmates, some wanting to be his friend and others with crushes on him! Glitch becomes known as the heartthrob of the school, an attractive sim both inside and outside!

Upon ageing up into a young adult, Glitch wants to continue his career in music. He’s starting from the bottom - a retail employee at a record store - but wants to be top of the charts one day! The sensible way to get a career in music would be to study and work hard, but Glitch is confident he can take a shortcut to stardom! Now living with his big sister, Reed, he asks her something daring - join a talent contest with him to win the chance of a record contract! Will the Quick sibling duo cut corners and become and international sensation?

Even though Tiger Lily was technically a single kid, she still felt like she lived in the shadow of her adoptive sister Midnight due to her illness. During her childhood, her parents were constantly in and out of the hospital with her sister and she was left much to herself. It’s really strange how forgotten a child can be - even when they are longed for and loved. By the time she turned 18 her younger sister had become so ill that she had to have a personal assistant to relieve their parents. That’s when Mustard pretty much moved in with them. By that time he was young, full of hope and happiness and Tiger Lily who was just a few years younger than him and who had lived her entire life in the darkness surrounding Midnight’s disease fell instantly. 

When Midnight eventually passed awawy, Tiger Lily and Mustard comforted each other and as the weeks and months passed by they were soon an official couple. It was their love, as well as her own painting that got her through the inital grief of losing a sister. But it was the loss of her sister that made her painting career really take off. Yet, no matter all the good things that happened in her life - she would gladly switch it all to get her sister back.

Tiger Lily and Mustard had four children of their own: Canary, Pumpkin, Cinnamon and Sundance.

Lily was the winner of our Taurus round. It was a close race right up until the end, she and Hunter were tied for the longest time. Her spouse, Banofee, was made by me this time. This gen’s rules said they had twins so no roll for number of children and I didn’t roll for gender, just taking whatever CAS gave me.
