i’m a new buddie shipper and i just finished 911 fox but i’ve already read a few fics while watching the show lol

and idk if it’s just me, but some of the spanish eddie uses in fics is just so....unnecessary??

many of us speak spanglish, yes. i add spanish words while speaking in english here and there (but usually not with non spanish speakers)

there’s just some words or phrases that would feel weird to say to someone who doesn’t speak spanish...like some words of endearment i’ve read in buddie fics would sound strange to say to a non spanish speaker....of course this is just my opinion. i don’t speak for every hispanohablante

and i mean i don’t think these authors (if they’re not latinx) have done it disrespectfully, they seem to have done it thoughtful, but it still feels weird

idk it just catches me off guard

what i’d say to buddie fic writers who don’t speak spanish/are latinx, just don’t add any spanish. it won’t take away the quality of your fic if you don’t add spanish. if anything run it by someone who speaks spanish and listen to them, if you don’t have anyone just don’t add it! :^)

my last reblog reminded me that I just watched the fellowship of the ring again but the one that’s on Netflix isn’t the extended cut and as someone who has seen the extended cut many many (many) times I can tell y’all that despite the cinema cut being 3 hours long they left out some PRETTY FUCKIN GOOD SHOTS

FOR EXAMPLE when Galadriel tells Frodo to bear a ring of power is to be alone she just... says that and the scene is over?? They cut her showing him Nenya?? Which is such a pure fucking moment and imo important because it shows that yes Frodo is alone but not truly bc as a ring bearer Galadriel understands to some degree the level of pain he is in and if we don’t know Galadriel bears Nenya it just seems like she’s like haha LonElY Boy... Good Bye !!! Also they cut everyone getting the gifts which is one of my FAVORITE SEQUENCES it is so pure and good and really highlights the rest of the fellowship in a v important way and it’s so important to have gimli have his Soft Moment I cry every time and when we don’t see the gifs in the next movie it’s like well hOw did sAm get the eLvIsH rOpE

As a side note I really do enjoy the details of sams character that are present in the extended cut like the wood elves sequence and the consequent lothlorien gift giving enriches it for me but I do understand that it’s not Pivotal

and also they cut the shot of the urukhai archer fucking licking Aragorns bloody knife after he pulls it out of his OWN THIGH I’m so mad I wanna see him LICK IT
