La Ferme du Pere Castor Nathalie Parain Along with Rojankovsky and Nathalie Parain the next most commissioned illustrator for the Pere Castor series was Helene Guertik. A Russian emigre she arrived in Paris in the 1930s taking on jobbing work, including painting scarves for Chanel, before joining forces with Père Castor. She seems to have given the animal books for the younger reader, beautifully lithographed on stone in 1937. A great number have now been reissued by les Amis du Père Castor.
