John can be a bit of a sarcastic asshole at time, generally always sarcastic but not always an asshole, so best be quick witted with him

He’s an anti-hero, and like most anti-heroes he wants to do his thing alone. He may accept help every now and then (rarely, lets be real) so if you decide to start following me get ready for so negative reactions

It’ll start out with annoyance, the constant question “why are you following me?” being said what seems like every other sentence from him

It’ll progress to him trying to abandon you. If you two happen to stay at a hotel for one reason or another, he’ll try to leave before you arise but somehow you always find him

It may even get to him starting a fight with you. It’s nothing personal, he’s not used to having a companion of any sort also he deals with demons a lot so it’s natural of him to be a lone wolf. Also his dad was a mess so his distrust might’ve stemmed early on in his years

But you managed to stick with him through this all, so John finally gave up and accepted your companionship. He wasn’t happy about it at first of course, but he’s not complaining anymore

He may even start to care

If he notices your dislike of his cigarette smoke he won’t quit the addiction, but he’ll step away from you

This one's a bit mad, but every time we get a new writer on Hellblazer we are also getting a new version of John, and I mean that literally.

Anyways i hear canon that when John listens to this song it would hurt and he’ll just be in a sad state while listening to it.
