I genuinely think that Genos has been surrounded by nothing by older people his entire life that he just doesn’t really know how to act around people his age. He’s only 3 years older than Badd but I don’t think they’ve ever interacted and Child Emperor is younger than him but basically has adult intellect so it’s just like talking to another adult
Genuinely think if you introduce him to another 19 year old he’d malfunction when trying to socialize with them. His friend group (if you can even call some of them his friends, they’re mostly there for Saitama and he gets mad when they steal away all his attention, he seems annoyed by Bang, indifferent towards King and he straight up doesn’t like Fubuki last time I checked idk maybe they worked it out) is all adults who are older than him. If you put him in a group with some regular degular 19 year olds he would just sit there and wouldn’t know what to do. And he’s always been like that. Even before he was a cyborg they said he was a serious kid so I imagine he didn’t have many friends growing up
