He still can't believe he crashed. He's humiliated. After making such a big deal about getting away from his parents, after feeling like he succeeded, and now his ship is in pieces on some planet he never thought existed. For now, he chooses to look on the bright side. At least someone found him. At least he doesn't have to wander around and starve. Maybe he's catastrophizing.
