HOKAY
The move has been completed and now just comes the long process of adjusting to the new situation, although I admit it hasn’t been as rough of a transition as I thought it would be. The worst part has just been having to shell out a lot of money to get situated.. Not just apartment costs but I also came with nothing except my “personal effects”. No furniture and no basic equipment like pots, pans, silverware, etc., so there’s been a lot of costs that I didn’t really account for at first.. But I think that’s finally, mostly, over with.
I found a good desk that I liked with a raised shelf to hold monitors and an L-shape desk surface for plenty of space, so art should be a lot easier from now on. I haven’t had a computer until now, however, because I wasn’t able to take my monitors with me. I didn’t mind parting with them because I knew my friend had already mentioned he would be sending me his old ones which were better than mine anyway. I just had to be patient until they came in..
When I moved here, I knew that I had an apartment, but I didn’t have a job panned out yet. However, I did have an in-person interview set up shortly after my arrival and luckily, the morning after the interview, they called me to say that I start on the 27th. I don’t hold out hopes that it will be a position I’m completely happy in, but it’s something to keep me comfortable for now. One day at a time.
