Bad Sun Rising 10"sq, acrylic dm for purchase info . . I wrote a story for @hellohumans.co a while back about being an artist and how hard it was for me to even begin to call myself an artist. My personal prompt for the essay was how I look at my early paintings now. I've mentioned that I've been "stuck" and that may not be accurate... it's maybe not so much being stuck as it is just part of the path. Anyway, in that essay for HH, I wrote about how I got it in my head to “improve” five of my early paintings and just when I was about to start, I just couldn’t do it. This is one of the paintings. And here’s the thing: I really like this little piece now. I like the colors. I like the title. I like it’s history. So, that has me remembering that things change. What seems like the end of something amazing can turn on a dime. Something old becomes new again. Ends are beginnings and beginnings may not even be recognizable.
