The Resistance base was proving to be the sight of hundreds of new experiences for Finn. From trying new fruit to being introduced to music to learning how to fix the left gear shaft of an x-wing, but the most pleasurable experience by far had been taking his first hot shower. In the First Order, shower water had been absolutely freezing - they hadn’t bothered to heat it, and Finn had simply grown up thinking that showers were a necessary evil. Now, though, they were something to look forward to. 

As he shampooed his hair, finally able to indulge in something Poe called ‘head scratches’ (which he supposed was the most accurate term) he began to hum snippets of a song he’d heard Poe sing from time to time as they worked on the x-wing. The hum soon turned into half-formed words, and by the time Finn knew it, he was singing softly to himself, simply enjoying the way his voice echoed and the warm steam that surrounded him.
