I did an OC challenge over on Bluesky where some kind folks picked traits, and I cobbled together this cardio-obsessed EDM Envy demon! Their skin secretions are a little toxic, so be wary. Also they’re allergic to nuts.

🪽A reintroduction to Yearling Fauna!🪽

Hello everyone! So last year I made an oc named Yearling. I posted his original art and talked about him briefly on here. But today I'm finally sharing his updated artwork and some information about him! You might've also seen a photo of him with a similar design at the beginning of the year for a drawing. I'm much happier with his new design, and I'm also much more confident about posting about Hazbin/Helluva since y'all know I like it now lol. Anyways, here's the redesign of Yearling Fauna, and a little bit about him.✨️

Yearling Fauna is an angel in Heaven who is based off the Faun (a creature in Greek mythology known for their playful nature. Being half human and half deer). He is a gentle and sweet guy who looks after pets who go to heaven at his garden called Rainbow Bridge. Appointed as a protector by the Speaker Of God, Yearling takes his job very seriously. He often helps pets reunite with their owners if they make it to heaven and acts as a general caretaker. A flaw Yearling has is his crippling shyness. He has trouble making friends due to always running and hiding from most people who aren't involved with the pets.

He does have very few friends. His two he has are Emily and Abel. Both of them come by to help him care for less domesticated animals like Pangolins for example. Yearling has gained a soft spot for Abel for his kindness and dorky nature. Yearling also has a flute just like his myth of origin. He uses it to calm the spirits of those who are restless. Leading people into an almost hypnotic state of dance and calmness. He can also play it to a more cheerful tune for festival related reasons.

I have a lot more story to Yearling, but it sadly all can't fit here. Maybe in the future I'll make more drawings about his lore and relationships, but for now this is what y'all are getting. I hope you guys like him!🥰✨️

Well, first off, super honored! I'm so, so glad you guys are enjoying my silly little guy and his misadventures. He's been my brain child for a while now, and it's been so much fun to introduce his little slice of the hazbin-verse to all of you. <3

Anddd second, well, I suppose I'll just take some ideas off the hazbin hotel wiki as far as trivia goes haha. Most of this will pertain to canon-verse Drift unless specified. So, here we go!

-His name in hell comes from the street racing term and skill called 'drifting'. It was originally a nickname that was given to him by others while working as a chauffer. Drift took to it well also because he enjoys that it makes him sound 'cool' and 'like a cowboy'. It also calls back a bit to his time on the streets as well, similar to 'drifter' meaning 'homeless'. His 'real' name hasn't been stated yet in the comics, and the only person he told it to is Wyld.

-Drift is from a very small town in Southeastern Kansas, mostly a farming area around.

-He's the youngest of four brothers.

-He never got to meet his mother in the canon verse. AU Drift had his mom for a little bit of time.

-He's a big fan of 20-50s things on account of his paternal grandfather and grandmother, who he is very close to. And he loves ancient history, namely mythology.

-Loves animals, all kinds.

-Some of his favorite things include cowboys, sci-fyi, dinosaurs, and machines (namely planes and cars).

-The black marks on his body, as well as the tire treads on his limbs and ears, are a reference to how he died, in that he was run over. The full story is more complicated than just that however.

-His favorite drink is now a triple cherry shirley, though he does love hot choco and milkshakes a lot.

-He does not like pineapple on his pizza XD

-Drift's powers, generally, are centered around his ability to 'fix' or 'modify' things. This relates a bit back to his family life. His father was the resident handyman. His brothers were a carpenter, a electrician, and a plumber. His uncle was a smith. His paternal grandfather was a mechanic, in addition to being retired airforce pilot and a crop-duster. His paternal grandmother was a retired army nurse. And as it was a small town, it was usually Drift who was the 'extra hand'. So he spent a good portion of his life helping out on jobs and shuttling material around, fixing things in one way or another. The joke was that he and his family could build a house with all the trimmings by themselves overnight haha. Anywho, he's quite the tinkerer when it comes to that stuff, and he's got a good range of things he knows pretty well. He won't be building death rays or making crazed science experiments like Baxter or Pentious, but don't underestimate him.

-If Drift had a room at the hotel, he'd probably have a carbed.

-Drift loves food, and knows how to make a few things by himself, though not much. His specialties are dandelion soup and muffins. He adores sunflower seeds and chocolate.

-A few songs that comes to mind when regarding Drift include "Lessons Learned" by Carrie Underwood, "Move Along" by All American Rejects, and "Optimistic Voices" from the Wizard of Oz original soundtrack.

-Drift does like theater a lot, though hadn't seen anything outside of school plays until he got to hell. He loves the Nutcracker Ballet.

-He died in 1994

-Wyld and Drift were always supposed to be friends, even in very early concept development. I enjoyed the contrast of their personalities and stories a lot. Drift often mimics Wyld's mannerisms and gives a special authority to what he says, even if Wyld tells him not to haha. It's very much a kid brother looking up to and wanting to be like his older brother relationship. For example, the reason Drift jumps to biting when he's grabbed by Emily comes from Wyld. According to Drift, Wyld is his 'very bestest friend in the whole wide world'.

-Development-wise, Drift is modeled after a red fox and a fennec fox, meant show show a certain cleverness. In addition, foxes are also one of the more common animals to be roadkill in the US. In universe, the reason he's a fox mostly comes from his paternal grandfather, who used it kinda like a personal logo when flying and passed it onto Drift early on. When they talked over the walkie talkies, Drift's callsign was 'Loxley' which is a reference to Disney's Robin Hood, who is also a fox.

-He does in fact have a full demon form! Whether or not we shall see it in the comics is another matter entirely. It would require a lot in order to see that, particularly because Drift is very unwilling and unlikely to jump to violence as a solution...with few exceptions.

Hound’s Night MASS ATTACK

I spent three days on this attack! I said you’d see Krista again didn’t I?

After posting my own Hellhound (Vanity) I immediately got followed but the owner of another hound (Krista) which gave me an idea. What if I got a whole bunch of Hellhounds together for a mass attack? It would give me good practice on character interactions, anthro antimony (snoots are hard ok), and putting characters in a background which I think I did rather well if imma be honest. 

They’re all sleeping over at Vanity’s house so they’re in her room which is means all go the background story element connect to her specifically but I wanted them all to feel like they fit together. 

Going in order left to right:

Raven; there wasn’t a lot of info on her besides that she likes to party but I really liked her foxy palette and thought she would look great with the other hounds. I referenced her leggings in her ph pants cause I really like that soft rainbow. Her nightie tee is a band tee for the Horsemen, which is another tie in to Vanity’s story as The Horsemen is her dad’s band. I hope you don’t mind that tie in I just thought it would be a cute addition. 

Teacup; Poodle Hellhound? Added immediately how could I not? She’s so cute and fluffy and poodles are super energetic so I thought that would be good energy to add to the group. I gave her silk pajamas and a bonnet to help protect those precious curls. 

Willow; THE GORGEOUS?!? THE GLAM?!? The pinup part of my brain has ideas but I shal refrain….for now. I thought an elegantly shear nightie would perfect for her. I personally see naked Hellhounds the same as having a naked dog like it is what it is unless it’s actively being sexualized and their permissions allowed me to run with that idea. I hoped to e pink would make a good contrast with her beautiful hair, which is honestly what I was most excited to draw on her, and tie her in palette-wise with the other warmer characters. I wasn’t certain if her feet were laws are hooves by the boot shape and it looked like her dad was a goat but the pose I chose for her covered that up but Hoenstly I think the idea of a cross species hellhound is really cool if that is the case. 

Chikkie; every time I tried to type her name autocorrect decided it wanted to fistfight me like no you stupid machine it’s not CHILLY but what do I know I’m just the human typing it. I really liked her straight hair and bangs which very few Hellhounds have, actually shes the only one I’ve seen with bangs like that to date. I apologize if her colors are a bit off, I didn’t color pick for any of them and practiced my eye which is bad at colors but her especially I struggled with getting right. I feel like I could’ve made better desicions for her like her jammies and so on but overall I’m happy with how she turned out. Good designs make it easier to draw good characters 😅

Lieka; for those of us that don’t know Lieka, no he’s not placed oddly in the composition. I think I did pretty good making sure everyone was sized right for the image. He is in fact over 8ft tall (big puppy). She has such a distinctive aesthetic I wanted to carry that over into the sleepwear and I found this comfy set online I thought she might be comfy in. He kinda has this air of noble mystery that made me really want to draw him at least once tho I fear I didn’t do that air justice. Still, I feel like he’s a nice addition to this ragtag (or should I say dogtag 😅) group. 

On the bed or Krista and Vanity 

Krista; who kinda started at all oh look you get another attack 😅 honestly shes so cute and she inspired this idea so I couldn’t not add her in there. 

And of course my girl Vanity; I mean. If I want Vanity to interact with ither characters why can’t I do it myself? I think she would enjoy knowing all of these hounds and would gladly share her massive band tee collection with them. 

I hope everyone enjoys the sleepover! I wanted to invite more hounds but I’m afraid Vanity’s room is only so big 😭. We enjoyed having you all here and you’re welcome back at Vanity’s house anytime. 

I made Vanity’s room with rooms.xyz but didn’t get to save it. I may remake it on there so it’s available for future reference.

And now there is Kit! kit is an imp and a waitress at the Velvet Fang.

She works not only as a waitress, but as Silks ears. People ignore imps, and that means they say all sorts of things around them. Silk knows the value of this, and therefore knows Kits value. She doesn't go out of her way to spy, but the information comes to her anyway. And she uses it.

Kit knows that hell is survivable, as long as you don't expect it to be fair.
