Startups: If you can’t find what you need, create it!
A business that is at the initial stages of its operation is a startup. Startups are categorized into several types these days, for example, web startups, tech startups, e-business startups and internet startups. In several startups, the entrepreneur bootstraps his business which means he starts a new business by making use of the little operating revenues and the initial personal resources available to him. In bootstrapping, you don’t have to take huge bank loans, which, indirectly means reduced interest rates. The above definition for a startup business is valid if the entrepreneur has the courage and passion to see things through and, of course, believes in himself. To start a business, a spirit of entrepreneurship is required. With limited resources at hand, the entrepreneur has to be innovative in their utilization, and finally, to be successful there needs to be commitment, perseverance and a long-term vision. Be it a small or a big idea, it can work for you if you have a clear vision of what you’re going to do and how you’re going to make use of the resources you have. In old days, when you had an idea that you wanted to turn into reality in the form of a running business, you would automatically be mindful of the investments and budget inputs you would have to make in order to get the business functioning. Now, with internet as the ultimate facilitator, you don’t have to be worried about everything in monetary respect. You don’t have to give up bulks of money to achieve a running business. In fact, these days, there are numerous businesses that operate on web only. Here, I’d like to quote Josh Quittner from his article in Time Magazine on April 9, 2009, ‘The New Internet Start-Up Boom: Get Rich Slow’, as he named such startups as “LILOs, for a little in, a lot out.” To have a smooth business, you need to adopt the strategies we've mentioned above. It’s not all that easy to dive into the world with something new, and expecting a warm welcome by the industry is absurd too, but once you’re in there, you’ll know that it was worth it! :) Because the deal is simple: if you wanna get somewhere, you gotta risk something. ;)
Heading Out to the Cities. Woot Woot!
HelpBuddy will not only be an ‘institution-only’ facility but shortly you’ll see a new release with tons of new features! As you know, the beta version of HelpBuddy is already up and running, it’s about time we unveil some of the pieces we’re building and joining at our Development wing at HelpBuddy. HelpBuddy’s ‘City Network’ feature is on its way! Imagine it as a chance to have a loudspeaker in your hand and you are allowed to shout out what you need to everybody who can hear you not only in your campus, but in your whole city... “Now that would be fun!” - As one of our friends commented on it. Yes, that is going to be fun and what’s even better is that your circle of ‘listeners’ is going to be widened! This ultimately means more offers, more buyers, more traders, and more swappers, and all of it is equal to ‘more audience’! Soon it’s going to be a place where you can trade with just about anyone in your city. So, what would you shout if you were given a loudspeaker to ask for something? :) We'd be glad to hear from you. :)
Yes! This is what we're here to facilitate you with! :)

Adding universities on HelpBuddy: First impressions are everything ;)
HelpBuddy as a platform becomes valuable when there are a certain number of people already on the system.
The technical term for this is reaching Critical Mass and the way we are trying to make sure that you don’t land on a barren wasteland is by activating University networks when they have reached 75 signups.
This is allowing us to gather valuable feedback data from the institutions that are already active, giving us time to roll out features almost on a daily basis and well keeping the load on our servers in check.
So if you have signed up and would like to get your institution activated quickly, please help us spread the word. And tell us about your efforts by adding @hbuddycom to your tweets or dropping us a line on our Facebook page or as a comment right here :)
