this has great meme potential, use it responsibly
it's cool that we use acronyms for fandoms and stuff but when you've never heard of a certain show or movie or whatever and you come across the acronym on tumbr it gets weird cause some are common like we all know that MCU stands for marvel cinematic universe but earlier I saw a post talking about TMFU and my brain said ah yes, the motherfucker unlimited

Here to tell you all my d&d campaign's story
Here's the thing: a friend and I were invited to join an ongoing campaign back in april by said campaign's DM, let's call him P. It all started out cool, our characters soon befriended the older players' and honestly all of our characters are pretty incredible, best party I've ever seen
Aaand then the DM started being an asshole. We loved our story and we loved our characters, but the DM didn't give us any freedom, he was unfair to the players and it got bad to the point of The Incident™ with a now infamous white door, a session in which another player, let's call him J, and I had anxiety attacks and all of us cried because of how stressful it was. The following session was our last, because of what was previously said plus some other shitty stuff that P did, like being blatantly homophobic and transphobic, laughing at players that were genuinely having a bad time while playing and like, giving my character cancer out of spite after I rolled really good to free J's character from a curse
Now for the next part I need to introduce a bit to you our characters. Mine is an elf bard, J's is a human rogue, there's also a human paladin, a draconic monk and a tiefling warlock. The thing is, in this one very unfair dungeon packed with op enemies, the rogue died. Well, actually he wasn't dead and we could easily save him, but the DM told us he was definitively dead. And so the tiefling sacrificed his life to bring our actually-not-dead rogue back to live, and yes his character did die for real. After finding out he'd sold his soul to a demon prince we made the decision to drop our main quest, a quest that made no sense at all, to go save him, and that's when the DM started being even more of an asshole. That's also when everyone said fuck this, and then that dead tiefling's player, let's call him C, had an amazing idea: start a campaign of our own
We had our first session yesterday. Same characters, same players except for C who's our new DM, and it was incredibly amazing. Our characters' potential was finally put to use and the resulting game was fantastic. And what's even better is that we're our own fandom now.
Here's another thing: after that last game, we were chatting and stuff with one of our new viewers, let's call her M, and she confessed that the whole session she'd been shipping my character and J's so hard, and suddenly everyone else including the both of us were confessing that we shipped them too. And so, in this new campaign, which we've decided to accept as the official canon of the story, we've started a romance arc between them. God, it's turning out beautiful, we almost made the DM cry last night with this very tender scene at the end of the session. Also, we played some Tee K.O. after that, and there was this really cute t-shirt that M put together of the ship so we're all actually buying it
TL;DR: our fanmade-made-canon d&d campaign is the best
