The figure on the right has been called a Hemione, or onager / wild ass, in the past due to a number of anatomical features such as the large ears. Nowadays it is identified as a slightly unusual horse, as no evidence of hemiones have been found in archaeological sites in the region.

As to your surprise, the Yule Ball was going to be one of Hogwarts’ biggest events of the year. It was early December, no one left for the holidays because this was an event nearly everyone was to attend. It was the time to get cozy, feel warm, stay with your loved one, and also be incredibly lonely. Which was your case.
You aren’t one for social crowds, but this is something you’ve dreamed of as a kid. Watching Cinderella over and over always gave you the want to go to a royal or any ball just to dance and be with someone who cared for you so much. Frankly you are single and were absolutely positive that no one had an interest in you. So you were either going alone, with a few friends, bloody Draco if it had to come to that point, or not at all. Even if you did like a certain boy, you were sure he didn’t notice you.
Of course you were wrong though. Harry Potter did, in fact, have a crush on you. You always caught his eye, whenever in class, or studying, or talking with the Weasley twins during dinner about something they had found, or when you laughed at one of Ron’s dumb jokes in the common room. It was safe to say that the boy was whipped for you. You were just to oblivious cause you too, had a crush on the Harry Potter. You liked how he would just observe the tiniest things but not really make not of them as a big deal.
One time he was staring at you while you sat reading a book, and you could feel his heavy stare on you. “Harry, do I have something on my face?” You asked him as you started rubbing your cheeks to see if there was any dirt. “Oh no, sorry, I was just admiring your freckles, they’re pretty you should never cover them.” He just said plainly but with the tiniest, softest smile. You blushed light pink but the fire from the common room covered it well. “I’ll make sure not to wear any makeup then.” You both smiled at each other, got closer and rested your head on his shoulder as he put his arm around you and played with your hair. An hour or so later, you had both fallen asleep, both of you curled into one another. When Harry woke up, he just admired you until you woke up and were to dazed and half asleep of the situation. The day passed on while stealing glances at each other in class and during eating hours. It became rather normal after a while.
Now you sat in the courtyard, thinking about the boy and wether or not he had a date to the ball. She stared at the ground until she felt the presence of another human being. “Is this, I’m guessing, Draco?” “Wow y/n you’re not as stupid as I thought half bloods could go.” Draco says, with a smirk in his voice. “What do you want?” “C’mon you’re gonna ignore your best friend like that?” “Yes.” Draco was indeed your friend, he may have hated you for a year cause of your house and background but after being paired together in potions, you guys were pretty okay friends. You told him things you wouldn’t dare tell Fred and George, and he judged when you told him you liked Potter (as he says) but he listens.
“You’re so annoying.” He chuckled and shook his head. “I would ask Harry to the ball but I’m terrified of rejection so,” you replied with a sigh. “If he won’t ask you, you ask him. And if he says no, we’ll go together, as enemies of course.” He suggested. “Oh most definitely, we are natural born enemies after all.” You joke with as you shove him with your shoulder lightly. You laugh brightly and stand up as Draco does too. “Where you going, half blood?” “Eh I don’t know, maybe to find Harry and bother him.” Putting your hands in your hoodie, you walk towards the castle while Draco yells behind you, “When he rejects you, don’t come crying to me!” You shake your head and while smiling, thinking where Harry could be.
Meanwhile on the bridge, Harry was walking with Hermione as they talked about the Yule ball. He would ask y/n, but he was scared she’d say no. “But you like her, so why don’t you just ask her?” “I’m too scared she’d say no.” Harry sighed and shoved his face in his hands. “Can you tell I’m madly in love with her?” he asked. Hermione said sarcastically, “Oh no definitely not.” “At this rate me and Ron are going to be the only ones without dates,” the boy said looking out to the forest. “Not unless you do something about.” Then, an idea came to his head. “Where could I lead her and have it be isolated?” “The quidditch pit maybe?” she continued with an unknowing tone. “Okay great, I have to go,” he took off running to the Gryffindor common room to write y/n a letter to meet him in the pit in an hour.
You had gotten the letter but it wasn’t really signed by anyone. The only thing that you could trace it to a person was the initial J. You went anyway, wanting to see what was needed of you, unless it was a stupid prank from Fred and George. You walked in the middle of the pit, not knowing what to do. In your defense, you did get there 20 minutes earlier, waiting for whoever J was. You sat in the snow, playing with it and making snowballs to attack whoever was to come. After 15 minutes, you had made a pile of snowballs until you heard something stepping on the crunchy snow. You grabbed two snowballs, one in each hand, and once you saw a moving figure, you threw one ball and managed to hit the person that walked towards you.
“Bloody hell y/n, you didn’t have to hit me.” The voice. The voice was all too familiar, for it was Harry Potter himself. “So you’re ‘J’ then?” You pointed your finger at him. “J for James, forgot that was my middle name, didn’t you?” “Yes I did, what did you need?” “Oh uhh...” He moves his hands to his pockets as he looked at the ground. He whispered but you couldn’t quite make out what he said. “I’m sorry Harry I couldn’t hear you.” He sighed and repeated himself significantly louder, “I was wondering if you wanted to go to the ball, with me, as your date?” Your face was pink, but the cold covered it as if you were just freezing in the middle of the quidditch pit. “Harry I’d love to,” you respond and walk to give him a hug. The feeling of his body warmed you up as he wrapped his hands around your waist. “It’s freezing, we should go to the common room.” He suggested. You nod and grab his hand to walk to the castle, big smiles on both of your faces.
The Yule ball was to take place during the holiday break, but none of you went back home. What you both did was practice your dancing, waltzing everywhere from the common room, to the courtyard or in the halls. Harry wouldn’t get it right, so he suggested he practiced with Hermione cause you weren’t one for explaining how to do anything. So during your free time, you’d bug Draco into practicing with you all the time. Which would always have banter while dancing. You also thought that taking Draco dress shopping with you was a smart idea, when in reality he just made fun of you for every dress you wore. Until you found a really pretty blue, sparkly dress. It was floor length, would twirl and had pockets, which is a need, really.
“Draco you can’t at this one, I think it’s pretty.” You yelled while hiding in the dressing room. “You thought all the other ones were pretty, shut up and get out.” You groaned as you slid out of the small room and walked onto the platform in front of Draco. You looked in the mirror and spun around. “You were right this one is really pretty.” “Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a compliment from your mouth ever Draco,” you laughed as you admired the dress. “I’m getting this one.” “Great, you pay and I can finally get back.” He got up with his hands in his pocket. “Jeez you’re so impatient.” You rolled your eyes and went back to the dressing room to change back. With the dress in hand, you went to go pay, said thank you, and went back to the castle cuffing arms with Draco as you both walked while annoying him.
Ah yes, the day has come. The three schools were all getting ready for the ball, and you’d think it’d be chaos but everything was going rather smoothly. You had hung out with Harry all day, holding hands while wondering around the halls with no purpose, dancing around the halls with your sweaters and pajama pants, laughing when you almost fell down the stairs and cuddling by the fire in the common room. You didn’t want to get ready and leave him, but alas you both went to your dormitories and started dressing up. There was an hour left but most were already done and walking in the Great Hall. You just had more time because Harry was a competitor for the Tri-Wizard Tournament, which would let both of you together have a grand entrance with the other competitors.
You and Hermione were getting ready together, you helped with her hair and she did your make up. The dress colors were extremely different but both of you together looked stunning. There was a knock on the door, “Y/n?” Harry yelled through the door. “Yes?” “I’ll be waiting downstairs near the great hall.” “Okay!” You chuckled as putting on your earrings and few rings gifted by your mother. Hermione put in one last hair pin in her hair and went to the door. “Ready?” “No but let’s go,” you laughed and left the common room. You girls laughed walking to the Great Hall, until you both get to the last steps. “Let’s link arms and go down, is anyone looking?” “Harry’s looking for you,” Hermione peeks her head out from the corner you were both hiding from. “Oh shut up.” You smiled and took her arm, grabbed your dress so you wouldn’t step on it, and walked down.
You felt all eyes on you and Hermione, but yours fall right onto Harry’s. He was so starstruck, like you were a literal goddess coming from the heavens. The boy shook his head and stood in front of the steps as you came closer down. Hermione went off with Krum while Harry grabbed your hand and kissed it. “You look absolutely gorgeous,” Harry said. He couldn’t take his eyes off of you. “As do you, sir.” You giggled and kissed his cheek. “Let’s get ready, we obviously have to be the best pairing here.” “Well of course my lady, shall we?” He bowed with a grin on his face while you curtsied and held his hand. “We shall,” and you walked into the line you were sorted in and once the doors opened, you walked with a powerful strut, trying to make Harry get into the mood of things, but you both did have big smiles on your faces.
You go to a side of the ballroom and he wraps his hand around your waist. “You’ve been practicing Potter?” “Only for you.” He smiles and winks at you as the music starts, both of you waltzing around the floor, smiles plastered on both of your faces while looking at each other. He would twirl you, lift you, and always have close to him. Honestly, you have never smiled so much in life, Harry made you so happy it was such a great feeling. The whole night was like this, maybe some rock or other genres were played and Harry never left your side. “I’m tired, do you want to sit outside?” You yelled over the rock that was playing. “Yeah, I’ll get your coat and we can go outside.” He yelled back. You both left the floor, waved at Draco, and went outside.
“Jesus christ it is cold!” You shiver, grabbing Harry’s hand. He laughs, “You’re mental for wanting to go outside.” “Shut up!” You laughed at him. He held both of your hands, “Are you warmer now?” You come closer and wrapped your arms around his neck. “Now I am.” You both could hear “can’t take my eyes off of you” by Frankie Valli. “I like this song don’t you?” You ask Harry as you begin to sway with him as you hear the faint music. “It describes my feelings towards you.” You blush and hide your face in his shoulder. “You’re annoying,” you mutter. “You like me, shut up.” “And how’d you know?” Your face leaves his shoulder to face him. “Oh I was just joking, do you actually?” “Um, yeah I do, actually.” “I like you too, I have for a while.” You punch his chest. “And why didn’t you say something?” “Cause I was too much of a coward to say anything, but when I first met you, i couldn’t take my eyes off of you.” He brings you closer, cups your cheek and slowly leans in. You lean in too, and when your lips kiss, it was the most wonderful thing in the world. And that’s how the night went on; dancing while staring into each other’s eyes, and stealing kisses. It was just perfect.
So some "scientists" fed a computer all seven harry potter books and a load of Pottermore stuff and they made it try and write a new book,
The title is my favourite part (remember the computer came up with all of this) - “Harry Potter and the Portrait of What Looked Like a Large Pile of Ash"
And you know how in what feels like every book there’s that moment where everyone forgets the password and then Hermione is smug?
“They looked at the door, screaming about how closed it was and asking it to be replaced with a small orb. The password was ‘BEEF WOMEN,’ Hermione cried.”
screaming about how closed it was why is this not a meme already
