I successfully convinced @ave-puella to read Raffles, with relatively little enticement. I think I have a good sales pitch for it, frankly, considering it also worked on my father.

I can’t not read “keep clearing that schedule” in a sarcastic and judgemental voice. NOBODY ASKED YOU, AUDIBLE
right???? and they’re ALL like this.
I love it when friends start reading discworld for the first time
henryiiofficial answered your question “okay does anyone know whether granby from the temeraire books has...”
I am also on the short-hair-Granby train for whatever reason, and I can't remember ever seeing any concrete canon evidence either way. But even if there was, it's your Granby, so picture him however you like!
apparently he’s mentioned to have long hair (or longer than laurence’s) once? so as far as i’m concerned he grew it out at one point but it’s generally short? or maybe once iskierka came into his life he cut it short. i feel like being near a fire-breather all the time might result in some burnt hair....
I officially started reading His Majesty’s Dragon!!
henryiiofficial, this is absolutely your fault XD
henryiiofficial replied to your post “well that was not at all how I was hoping or expecting the semester…”
Sorry to hear that, I hope things pick up :( Have some love *throws it at you like confetti*
Thank you friend <3 It is much appreciated and I'm feeling much better about everything now

Wait is your narrator Frederick Davidson?? Because that’s who narrates the audiobook I have and that was my thought exactly about HIS voice and tone
ahaha omg yes it is. there were like four different narrator options on audible but his seemed the most tolerable for 60 hours. I’m so glad we agree on his voice.

This is great because I only made it through the first few chapters and I always meant to finish it, but now I don’t have to! I assume this will be a thoroughly insightful commentary that will broaden my understanding
Oh yes of course, absolutely. it will practically be cliffs notes and not humorous shitposting. at all.

ABRIDGED OR UNABRIDGED? not that it matters a whole lot I just want to know if you’re subjecting yourself to the same level of WORDS that I did to myself.
unabridged, of course! it’s a 58-hour audiobook, which tops my previous longest-audiobook-listened-to record by like twenty hours (the brothers karamazov, at 37 hours). So this should be fun.
