There are only a few things in the world that beat an early morning sunrise. Where there’s hardly a cloud to hinder the array of colors bursting through the sky. But being able to spend it with my moon makes it all the more sweeter.

left and right 

parallel lines to never touch again 

it hurt less 

you were both the moon and the sun

chasing yourself 

as i watched 

eyes open and burning

you are still the moon and sun 

except my eyes are closed 

held shut against the reality 

you are far from my reach 

i still reach out

blind

if i am lucky 

i may manage to be burned again
