Hekate's Blessing Deity Oil
"HEKATE (Hecate) was the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy." - Theoi
I work with Mother Hekate to heal generational trauma, dream work, introspection, and my clairsenses. I venerate her on Saturdays as the planetary correspondences of Saturn fit her well.
She's been with me for over a decade, since the start of my practice. She took on the mother figure role when I personally did not have anyone.
This blog is actually dedicated to her for helping others learn about witchcraft and the occult.
She's a stern teacher, who will take off your training wheels on your bike and push you. However, she'll help you up when you fall. She's kind and nurturing when you need it.
I made an oil for her to call upon her. I use it to carry her with me, to wear for certain purposes and as a candle-dressing. It helps me with my intuition, clairsenses, protection, spiritual communication and divination.
You will need
A clean and cleansed jar
Myrrh - The moon, introspection, protection, spiritual connection, she just loves myrrh (UPG)
Cypress - Historical herb, strength, protection, enhances spirit connection, grief
Lavender - Dreamwork, enhances spirit connections, peace
Thyme - Clairsenses
Carrier Olive Oil - Traditional offering
You can either do the folk method or the hot method. You can find my post on infused oils here to learn how to make infused spell oils. I suggest if you are an animist or someone who wants more power from your oils. Speak to the herbs kindly, treat them less like an ingredient and ask them respectfully for their aid and the purpose they'll have in your oil. Use intention. The same goes for the Olive oil.
You can sub any of these, however, Cypress is historical for her. So is Olive Oil among the Greeks. Try to keep within the theme of the underworld, death, spiritual connection and psychic work.
Blessings!

baby's first infused oil ✨️
i have a loved one who asked for something for neuropathic pain so i will be using myself as a test subject for my own pain before i pass it on to them - and if it works, i will post the recipe!
so in love with this nervine salve i made last night for my apothecary, it’s infused with lavender, rose, elderflower, and holy basil, with a touch of pink grapefruit essential oil to give it a shimmery fragrant finish. so comforting and grounding✨
Making Oil Infusions
Oil infusions can be used in a wide range of things including skin care, hair care, and cooking. Like most DIY oil creations, you need a base or carrier oil to start.
The technique I'm sharing was originally found from an East Indian hair oil recipe and after some experimentations I found that it can be used for so much more. Here is the step by step process.
Step 1: choose and set your base
Depending on your ending container you want to use the size of the container worth in oil and about a third more worth.
Bare in mind the oil you use should be suitable for the intent (is it to be used in food, for candle dressing, your skin care, etc?)
Put said oil in a pot.
Step 2: choose your herbs and essential oils
Once you have your oil you can add seasonings, clean plant parts like petals and leaves, herbs (fresh or dried), or tea leaves. Put enough to fill the oil to capacity.
If you're adding essential oils you shouldn't need too much as the heat will increase and spread the contents evenly.
Adding Vitamin E oil to your mixture helps as an added preservative quality, otherwise use quickly or use a lot of salt.
Once again bare in mind the intended purpose for the oil in order to be safe.
Step 3: turn up the heat
Turn the fire under your pot to a medium heat. The oil should heat and sizzle but not boil. Leave on for about 20 to 30 minutes.
Step 4: let it cool
After the time passes, turn off the fire but keep the pot on the heat. It should cool in about an hour to 2 hours depending on how much oil you use.
Step 5: filter drain and contain
Pour your oil through a strainer over something to catch it. This does not have to be your last intended container.
If you don't have a cheesecloth, a couple layers of paper towel works too. Pour the solids over it and squeeze to strain out the rest of the contents.
Step 6: enjoy
Put in intended container and use.
Personally I have a rose infused oil for cooking and anointing candles in a jar, and I have a rosemary, mint and lavender infused oil in a glass dropper vial for my hair.
Sidenote: @punkylilwitch a similar post as this was sitting in my drafts and they go a bit more into the storage and magick process. Check out their post here
Also, special thanks to @teawitch for the Vitamin E tip
Infused Oils: Flower Infused Face Serum/Body Oil Base~
The Flower Infused Face Serum/Body Oil is another oil blend that’s gained popularity for the past few years, so it was time to double its batch. I perfected this recipe over time, choosing ingredients for a lightweight moisturizer, on top of helping with acne, dark spots, and keeping skin healthy. This oil blend is not available yet, but you can check out what’s available on my website, ashantisgarden.com (l!nk in bi0).

Added Holy Water to a protection oil?
So for St. Michael Archangel's feast day I made a protection oil that included, of course, oil and herbs, but I added some Holy Water to bless it- and to keep it from going bad I also threw a little vodka in there.
A couple days later and I just saw a post on here about making sure the herbs you add to oils are completely dried otherwise it can cause botulism??? Am I okay?? I'm not gonna eat it I just want to put it on candles, maybe wear it like a perfume for protection. Does the vodka have my back? LOL help
My parent's Orange tree is in full bloom with blossoms, so I made myself some infused orange blossom oil if you want to make some yourself. Collected your petals and put them on low heat with jojoba oil or any oil of your choice, then stir for five minutes. Put a piece of cheesecloth in the funnel and pour your oil into your jar. Please be careful because it will be hot when you pour it or put it to the side before you pour it.
Orange blossoms if you don’t know are mostly used for glamour spells like for lust and love. So I wear it for work so customers find me more likable and charming. As for lust, well you can use your imagination. 😉
