Are you going to or do you know a nearby area that is going to quietly and privately turn a large wildlife area into something else, where the plants will no longer be?

Please consider finding a local botanist or herbarium and asking them to try to rescue some seeds! Lots of rare and endangered plants grow on private property and it’s nice to be able to save the reproductive materials before you kill them for native species.

If there’s no hope to save them for future replanting, a herbarium may be able to collect and preserve some plants before they’re destroyed so that researchers can study them without having to take an endangered plant out of its native habitat for no reason.

Also, consider looking into herbariums near you. They may be far away or very close, but there are herbariums storing preserved pressed plant specimens all over the world!!! A lot of them will do tours if you ask, many are presented like mini museums, and you’re bound to see some cool shit. Some plants retain a scent long after they’ve been pressed!
