CotC and OT0 Splash Art Comparisons
The Champions and OT1 Travelers (this also likely includes that Guardians of the Light too) are reusing their ideas from their CotC art, however some things do change in their art. I wanted to share the arts side-by-side!
All the CotC art is a little more vibrant and less detailing (to be fair, the art is from ~4-6 years ago with varied artists of similar, but different, art styles used).
But now OT0's art has more details on the characters and backgrounds, as well as has the drawings feel darker and grittier.

Given that the art does appear different in both games, since I am sure that the OT0 original Travelers will also reuse their arts when added to CotC later, I wonder if they will have bright appearances to match with CotC's brighter look.
Do you have any preferences on the art?
For me. I prefer Herminia's CotC art for its vibrant colours, but I love the background details on the OT0 version too.
Easily prefer Tytos' OT0 art. The sharper, grittier look works so well for him. It just really shows the reality of his leadership and battle in the grittier look.
For Auguste, I also prefer OT0's look. The people aren't blobby shapes anymore, and Francesca being given more details is nice too!
For Tressa, her CotC art is one of my favourite artworks out of the main 8 from OT1, so I gotta stick with it. The vibrant colours work so well for the scene drawn. But I do prefer the way her face was drawn in OT0's drawing.
I did not expect playing Octopath 0 to bring me to appreciate the master arcs, especially MoW, and Especially Herminia. I did not appreciate them as much when playing cotc bc I didn't really start engaging till MoA.
But I think Herminia may be worming herself into being one of my favorite Octopath villains. Bc although she's irredeemablely evil, there's a tragic/sympathetic element to it. This is a woman, who when her father died, was abused and sold into prostitution by her sisters. Whose master was also abusive. So she retaliated hard. She killed the man she was sold to and took control of his wealth and men. She used that new power to kill her sisters. The world took everything from her, so therefore she believed she deserved the world.
The fact she no longer trusts anything except herself and money, but her overindulgence in wealth is what ended up being her downfall, and the rot it caused in Valore is what stirred Bargello + family to action

Happy 4th Anniversary to OCTOPATH:CotC!
When I was participating in Project Path Action's anniversary countdown, I decided to draw the Champions of CotC, then I decided to make a classic "OCTOPATH" styled drawing, as that's actually something I've never done before!
I had a lot of fun drawing all of them!
Also I have updated progress on my chibi project, having finished both the Initial 64 and Year 1 Travelers!
Onwards to Year 2, and more! I am going to try and do Travelers by their anniversaries. So I'll be mixing around with Year 2, 3, and 4!
I have been waiting a year and a half for this!! I am so excited!!!
The Bargello Family is literally the best thing ever. So I am happy of all things to get a manga, it is them!!
Happy 3rd Anniversary to Octopath:CotC!!
For the past few weeks, my best friend, Cinna, and I collaborated a drawing for the 3rd Anniversary! I drew all the human versions of the characters, as well as the rings and the Bestower of All, and effects and background, and Cinna tackled all the ring forms! I think we did pretty good!
I also did a small personal countdown with a batch of my favourites!
