"I'm not acting," Ada's hiss was sharp, much like her usual remarks. But, she was intent on emphasizing the risks of their current arrangement. They'd both narrowly escaped dangers on their own. While a partnership like theirs could benefit the two, Ada was far too fixated on the consequences. She had often looped others into her schemes, caring very little about the aftermath or whether or not they made it out alive. Collateral damage, really.

But, there'd been a change of heart that slightly brought Ada's guard down. There were many people out there just like her, fighting for their life to see another day. She'd like to think she could recognize those kinds of people and would hate to be yet another antagonist in what seemed like a life of war.

"You're putting yourself in danger with me. This can't go on."

jimmy didn't feel perfect but he's felt worse before. this morning, he woke up with a giant headache and his body ached. he was just glad his snack bar shift was just giving pre packaged food and handing over the credit card machine. but he could tell people were staring and not many people were coming up to him. "do i really look that bad? i'm like...scaring everyone away. i've maybe sold two bags of doritos in the span of three hours." and that was being generous.

Based on his demeanor and his answers, it was obvious he wasn't going to answer. That's fine. She'll get an answer somehow. She looks him dead in the eye, undeterred.

"Alright. Where can I find him?"

" Hey- " Voice carries loudly from behind the door, very clearly panicked in tone. " Are you home ?? " Memory on repeat of the scene that had just unfolded less than an hour ago. There was so much blood. Knuckles are raised to knock on the door again, whispering to herself this time. " God, please tell me you're home. "

Tears streak her face, breath catching in her throat on the intake... Holly was not meant to be a violent person. It's obvious in how she carries herself, one loud sound and she's ducking, eyes darting around to find the source with a panic in her eyes. It's almost the same now, making herself smaller than she already had been, twitchy with her movements in clothes stained with someone elses blood. Hand bangs on the door once again.

" Please open up, it's important- "

Bob stared at the bagel shop at the edge of the corner, hands in his pockets. It had a new name, he thought, but still. He saw a man about to walk in and said, "Excuse me,sir, does this place like...." He dropped his voice low. "Just sell bagels now? Not... Other things? I just want a bagel."
