some notes on Heroes Comics

aka a random list of things i found interesting, in no particular order whatsoever:

Kaito’s ability of prediction (and the fact that he flirts with Angela in spite of speaking like 4 words of english)

Paulette’s ability-boosting power (and her sudden death at the hands of human supremacists...)

Claude’s..... daughter? niece? (i’m thinking niece but who knows) Abigail is cool and i love that she has a life of her own and they get along!! wishing her and Lee all the best :3 [theory time: was she the one Claude saved? or was that her mother? and in any case, what happened to her mother]

all of René’s backstory. the fact that he uses his hands to direct his ability, because if he just emits it it burns all human brains in the vicinity to a crisp. his father, Guillame, would could make people experience ‘bliss and horror’ as he wished (and generally manipulate emotions apparently). 10/10 perfect ‘human god’ story, in all its fucked-up-ness.

poor Penny Logan, her face when she finally realized her crush was just a horny bastard and she was better off without him.... my heart broke but i also felt vindicated (against ppl fetishizing shapeshifters)

the whole messed-up-ness of the Dumont family... i’ll have to reread the whole thing to understand it all i think :’D (same with Donna’s storyline, kind of)

all of the smol glimpses / missing scenes feat. the main characters!!! Jessica killing D.L.’s guys, D.L. getting interrogated... D.L. using his ability to save lives on his job as a firefighter!!!! all of the Petrellis’ slice-of-life bit. Sylar trying to be a hero and being sad when it’s not recognized... Peter meeting Niki in the Five Years Gone timeline! Eden’s backstory (and Noah’s zero-tolerance-policy for bad dads)... etc. etc.

all of the Company backstories (nvm how they clash with tv canon in parts)

Hana & her family - incredibly badass, amazing women and role models. all of Hana’s story really...

that glimpse at Exodus (i mean technically it could fit into the future Peter traveled to, which is probably why it stayed in, but anyway)

and so much more i’m probably gonna revisit this post at some point

there are a lot of inconsistencies between the Heroes comics and the show, mainly when it comes to the history of the Company. i might make a post about this at some point.

one minor inconsistency i spotted lies somewhere entirely else though: Nathan doesn’t seem to know Ted at all when Claire brings him up, but in the comics he met him as a kid?? on the other hand - they were like,, 10? and didn’t know each other long, so i guess it’s forgivable that he just doesn’t remember him....

(this is the comic bit btw:)

(for context: Angela’s talking to Ted’s mum, Mindy, who is able to convert energy through her body (absorbing one type and emitting another))
