He was soon approaching Dwight and wrapping an arm about his  shoulders, beginning to tug him along as he walked forward, ❝ Walk an' talk with me, I wanna have a lil' chat with you. ❞

               ❝Cause you’re a fucking human being and you haven’t deserved any of the shit Negan’s done to you.❞  Nobody deserved anything that Negan did in the name of punishment or “saving,” his favorite word. Maybe when she first came here she could see this place through his eyes. People were put to work to make this place run smoothly. If a place couldn’t be run properly then it would be chaos and shit wouldn’t get done. But it wasn’t just the Sanctuary, it was other communities that they were “saving” and Anna found herself uncomfortable by it all. They weren’t saving. They were imprisoning. And even their own people were imprisoned, Anna included, and most certainly Dwight. So even though she hadn’t spoken up ( especially considering the bat Negan swung around ) she was glad that someone was taking a stand, even if he had to risk his life to do it.

               Anna shifted from one foot to the other, shoving her hands into the pockets of her jacket and trying to find some way to get through to him, even in the slightest of ways. She knew that he couldn’t trust anyone. Nobody had been on his side when the Sanctuary was still running underneath Negan’s thumb. Nobody spoke an opinion unless it was one that was kissing his ass. Nobody had Dwight’s back either, not even her when it should have counted, and for that she felt so sorry for.  ❝I’m sorry. You know, someone should have said something, including me. But we were all scared shitless, you know? So yeah...I do care, and would’ve if he had killed you.❞

◦. ♕       ”I  CAN  SEE  that, dear.” Masaru grinned amusedly; aw, he was justifying himself. As if he CARED --- he honestly didn’t, it didn’t matter if they were walkers or not. In this world, everyone was a monster now and Masaru wasn’t alone with that anymore. Casually he leaned against the stranger’s car, opened a silver tobacco box and slid a cigarette between his lips. No, he wouldn’t just let him leave.

“I need a ride~ Do you mind...?” Masaru wasn’t a Saviour. In fact, he knew little about them and their FIGHTS && he didn’t even look like one. He didn’t look like a fighter, he didn’t look like a worker -- he was way too clean. Black clothes unstained, his hair still silky, his skin without a blemish.

Negan tapped his fingers against his bat as he made his rounds across the Sanctuary. His annoyance level was on high alert these past few days. With everything that had been going on and the damage that had been done to his people---Negan was getting closer and closer to snapping. He had already discussed what he needed with Simon and Frankie, so now it was time to check off his next objective. His goal was to find Dwight and talk about the next step in the action on Alexandria.

Now, if he could just find the little shit.

{ ♔ }Dwight’s journey had not grown far as the roads had been filled with walkers, and he hadn’t been able to get further. Therefore, he had stopped the car and remained by the side of it, pleading that they would pass him and they did, the entire group of walkers was heading towards the communities. He had to warn them in time before they reached the Hilltop, and then as he had went back, staggering slowly, completely covered in blood from top to toes, having fought some of them, and then he had bumped straight into Daryl. Now when he was there, with the gun again pointed towards his head, he found himself trembling, as he struggled to breathe. “I promise.. I am going to leave. I am going to go find Sherry, as she’s alive. . But I. Just.. had to.. warn you. There’s a huge group of the dead.. They are heading towards the Hilltop and I couldn’t.. I just.. couldn’t leave without telling.”

THE GUN DOESN’T WAVER, eyes narrowed, gaze laced with suspicion. He doesn’t want to believe him ---- wants to shoot him right now, because god, it’s tempting. But Dwight has no reason to LIE about this; he surely knows that, even after warning them of such a threat, he won’t be welcomed back. Daryl wouldn’t stand for that.

After a moment, he lowers his gun, just enough to remove the immediate threat of Dwight being shot in the head. “Which direction ?? How many ??” First and foremost, Daryl will protect his community, which is why ---- not for the first time ---- he manages to push his own hatred & need for revenge aside in favour of keeping his family safe. “After this, yer’ gone, I mean it.”

    It had been awhile since a stranger had come to the gates. Usually people are worse for ware, but rarely in his state. They were lucky enough to have a generous amount of supplies and so aiding outsiders wasn’t near a moral dilemma. “Don’t be a stranger. If it gets infected Adelaide can have a look at it.”

{ ♔ } Trembling hands moved to quickly tug his shirt sleeve down as the other man in his presence had seen all of the burn marks along his pale wrist,extremely fresh and new. Blue eyes, filled with glossiness made contact quickly with those of Daryl as Dwight spoke slowly, unable to keep the eye contact with him for more than just a few seconds. “Why should I have? Would it ever have MATTERED? To be honest, I don’t think so. I mean, it’s not like you give a fuck about me, right?”. The words were probably a bit harsh but what else could Dwight have said in this situation? He knew that the man hated him more than anything and wanted him gone, so why would he have been nice? Daryl had just noticed his biggest secret - his way of coping with everything that he had lost, he always took it out on himself, either with using cigarettes or other things.

Daryl’s eyebrows are still raised, even when Dwight’s sleeve lowers. Nothing shakes him anymore but something about those burn marks makes a knot form in his gut. The marks looked pink and shiny and far too new, it wasn’t some torture inflicted by Negan and by the way Dwight spooked, Daryl had a feeling it hadn’t been done by anyone else. Daryl bit the inside of his cheek while he thought of an answer. Why did it matter? Why should he care? Yet somehow it did matter. Maybe seeing Dwight lately, looking for all the world like a scared dog without its abusive master made it that much harder for Daryl to just write him off.

Grabbing for Dwight’s wrist he quickly tugged his sleeve back up, holding him firmly to get a good look. “Some of these look infected.” That just tugged at his heartstrings all the more because Dwight didn’t even care enough to keep the burn holes in his arm clean. “Ya should see Siddiq, or at least still a little gauze and alcohol pads to clean that shit with.” He almost hated himself for losing his will to hate Dwight, even temporarily. “Seen people die of infection, sweatin’, chills, hallucinatin’, enough shit’s tryna kill us out here, you don’t need to waste time killin’ yourself.”
