To celebrate the midsummer Urgish peoples come together around the Mother Mountain, linking their arms with each other and dancing joyously. After the dancing, Urgish peoples continue on to a huge feast supplied with rich foods and great Urgish cuisine.
The feast will then come to an end giving way to the time where individual clans will find their roots and recite their family trees, otherwise known as Juuri. These clans then come together, engaging in friendly competition. The competitions are made up of many different sports; most are to show the immense strength that the clans possess, as they pride their strength.
The sports present in the competitions are as follows:
Hunting: The hunters are let loose for a certain period of time, in which they are to capture the most or the largest amount of game. The one with the heaviest catch within the time limit is considered the victress.
Swordfighting: Showcasing the finesse and skill with one's blade, participants are bracketed into one-on-one duels. This calls back to the method of duelling, which is believed to have limited the bloodshed of full-out clan wars. Endurance is a part of the game, but it is believed that the oneness of mind and body is prized.
Horse Racing: As stated, competitors mount their steeds and run through a pre-set course. The fastest horse wins.
Wrestling: Wrestling is quite a spectacle on Urga--fighters cover themselves in mud or oil, making it difficult to grapple. The winner is determined when she is held down for a certain amount of time or if she taps out.
Falconry: This competition celebrates the relationship between the Urgish nomads and one of their most prominent hunting companions. Falcons are judged for how much food they can gather or the speed of their flight.
Archery (magical and non-magical): Many sporting events involve archery, whether it be on horseback, on foot, with their feet or harnessing magical energy to shoot as an arrow; the main criteria for winning is accuracy.
Transmutation: Wixen cast a transformation spell on the object or creature of their choice and are judged for the integrity of the transformation, their creativity and the duration of the change.
