“Fuck. I messed up, Mohan, I’m such a fucking idiot.”

“Yeah, well, you know as well as I do that she’ll forgive you in a heartbeat. Just…be honest with her, yeah? For once. You two have been dancing around each other for a while,” Samira said softly. “Trust me. She wants you back.”

Langdon stared at Samira, searching her eyes for any hint that she wasn’t being completely serious, but he found none. He could see the truth written across her face. “Okay, I will.”

“Good. Now switch places with me,” Samira said, slowly sliding out from underneath Mel and swapping places with Langdon. As soon as she was leaning against Langdon, Mel let out a soft sound and snuggled closer, making Langdon look down at her with soft eyes.

“My work here is done,” Samira said proudly. “Call me later with an update, yeah? I want to hear how my plan worked.”

Langdon rolled his eyes fondly. “You got it. Thanks, Mohan. Seriously.”

“You’re welcome. I expect your next kid to be named after me,” Samira grinned. She gathered her stuff and took her leave, exiting the apartment humming a happy tune to herself.

Her plans were the best.
